      Yeah I think while her was in films as well as TV he was most well known for his huge impact in TV and so it does make more sense to honour him in Bafta's TV award ceremony.
      That said I do think they actually need to actually makes an official statement that that's what they're doing, so that people know they're not snubbing their memory. This has happened multiple times in the past and they really do need to speak to this officially. Until they do they'll continue to get public backlash every time.

    Respectful and touching. Should be an example for how to do this correctly for the Oscars which rarely focuses on those who have passed but instead focuses on the annoying singing and “entertainment” which accompanies the Memoriam. Just quiet music and respectful photos. And I agree that more respectful to show photos at the height of their careers. Well done BAFTA from across the pond.

    • @jamescampion7880
      @jamescampion7880 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well said. For the last 5 years the Oscars have ruined that very important segment. We don't need to see someone playing the violin or xylophone. The live cameras on stage should be turned off for the duration.

      @lisakwaterski6707 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Oscars did it right for the 2019 Memoriam that had Penny Marshall and Stan Lee in it. The orchestra performed a track from the John Williams' "Superman" score called "Leaving Home" that was just beautiful.

      Couldn't agree with you more. I loath the Oscar's in Memoriam. So poorly executed, no excuse. They show way too many agents, technicians, producers etc, unless you are a harden film fan or work in the industry most people wouldn't know they are. Yes, mention them but I think the time would be better spent, like you say showing the stars that people do! know, at their height of fame with a small montage of their work. I was shocked to see Oliver Newton John mentioned first and her photo barely registered before they had moved on. I find it all so disrespectful, a life time of work and entertainment and that;s!!! all you get. Poor! really poor show.

    Came here to see who was included rather than Bernard Cribbins...
    Biyi Bandele - 9 Separate Production Credits in his Filmography.
    Bernard Cribbins - 123 Separate Production Credits in the Actor department alone, not to mention the 100s of episodes in those 123 shows, or his 100s of credits in other departments as a Director, Writer, Singer or Himself.
    It makes no sense why an author like Biyi with barely any film or TV credits, was included in an in memoriam for film, while an actor like Bernard with 100s of film credits like was excluded.
