For me, I choose the TASCAM due to clean design, and look more of those expensive broadcast digital mixer but with Mix minus built in , way clean and beautiful compare to Rodecaster.

Hello DJ Zet, the audio enhancement is a preset set by TASCAM to be used to enhance the tone of the audio coming in , they have it on the USB, PHONE & BLUETOOTH, What it does when you turn it on is that , it help applied basic cleanup the signal, just like you applied it yourself on the microphone channel, how you want it , like the TONE: you have the option to either choose (deep, mid, Bright or manual) also the COMPRESSOR: you have (Soft, Hard or Manual to choose. so I will suggest if you have someone on the phone choose talk but if you're playing music from the phone or computer choose music, the difference is that TALK ia more compressed to clean background noise, and the MUSIC is enhanced to be loud and live, it set to sue different compression and EQ setting for voice and music. hope it help? if you need more question reach out to me again I will probably make a video to address it. thank you and good luck.
@@radioprobromania its more wider in music compare to talk if you leave it off, the signal will be raw as from the source, TALK is more compressed(less loud) good for when the signal is hot and needs to be tamed. MUSIC is less compressed (more Loud ) good for playing music to the TASCAM, good for if you want to boost low signal, and make it more lively, more reacher and fuller compare to Talk. Like I said if you have guest calling on the phone and you want to record your guest voice, choose Talk it help clean the aground noise and if he or she talk really loud, if no noise then choose OFF, but if the voice from you guest is not that great and not loud enough choose Music, it will give the voice some warm tone and make art lively and reacher .

When recording into Xsplit Broadcaster live, and I press a sound effect button, I can barely hear the effect, in the recording, and it has a bunch of computer garble. Any of y'all encounter this? I even did a factory reset with the very latest FW. Thank you in advance. It sounds fine in the headphones.
Even though i was unable to xsplit being a window platform, I will suggest First you check the Mixcast4 to be sure all the pad level are in zero db, you can click on the pad Icon on the screen to check if they are all on zero, by selecting LEVEL option, Engage each of the pad by pressing on then while the level option is selected to see if they are in zero, then if that is done, the software you use will be where to check, try and see where you can work with the audio, I guess there are two green or blue line down right that show mic and speaker be sure they both close to end by dragging the line and see if you have option to audio setting on the Xsplit software. hope this helps.
@@daprincehwc Thank you. Tascam support is now trying to repro in Audacity where the problem also happens. Yes, all pads are at 0 db and cranking them up or down does not resolve. I'll see where Tascam support goes. I may have to return it and check out the Rodecaster but I sure do like this Tascam a LOT!
Ty for your info, I've done the update smoothly. I'm on windows when it asked to unmount the drive at the end i think somehow that made it to where my Mixcast 4 doesn't fully read. I've tried short and long type c cords. So when im in the podcast editor trying to edit the sound pads it says mixcast not connected. Anything you may know to fix would help.
I will return it for a new one if still under the return window, or you can contact Tascam if you're not to see if you can get re[placement. never had any complains with this machine.
@@radioprobromania am not sure if SD card can cause the freeze just to be sure. best I will do is to return it for another one, if you order directly from TASCAM they will be willing to help or calls the store you bought it from if not TASCAM..

You will be fine with either of the two Rodecaster or Mixcast 4 , at this point choices might depend on cleanliness in designs, I only hope TASCAM wil be rolling out software to improve on the mixcast just like Rode did to the rodecaster for improvement that addresses users concerns.
I followed the instructions to the LETTER. This is what made it work for Windows 11 Home: I had to extract the files to a folder by the same name and I also copied the files to the utility folder and it worked! Jesus-H!!! Tascam tech writer needs to be fired!
I'm having trouble getting it into Firmware Update mode. After I power it back on, I press and hold Mark....and nothing happens. I've tried this about 6 times.... any advice??

I want to believe you mean the file capture on sound pad channel to sd card or you want to put song on the sound pad and your computer can not see it.
The mixer has frozen twice and makes a buzzing sound. The only way to fix the problem is to restart it by disconnecting the power cord.
I will return it for a new one if still under the return window, or you can contact Tascam if you're not to see if you can get re[placement. never had any complains with this machine.

Thanks but to be clear, you eject/unmount BEFORE you press exit… and after you update, be sure to DELETE the firmware update from the utility folder.
Yes, eject the sd card before exit, you can delete the file after use unless you have needs for it again.
