I try to only do a review if the place is good. If it’s bad, I just stay away. If the food is bomb though and there’s inconsistencies, potential, ect, I like to drop 5 star reviews and include my constructive criticism. Hating on a small biz restaurant on Yelp is weird imo. Basically, I agree with you.
@@P5YcHoKiLLa I don’t know this for a fact, but seeing as Daym has been in Burger King commercials I’m assuming many restaurants pay HIM to drop by and do a review, and I doubt he pays for food due to the marketing he’s giving the restaurant. We have to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt that they serve every costumer the same. It’s been true in any kitchen I’ve worked in. Cooks and restaurant owners are usually very focused on the food being right no matter the costumer.

I was very shocked to see My Wife Didn't Cook featured on "the worst". I have never had a bad meal or bad service from them. Their food is amazing! I live in NYC, but whenever Im in the area I always try and make it a priority to stop by.
When I used to drive over the road I allways stopped at the Mom & Pop truck stops whenever I could. The food was by far better quality than the chain type truck stops.

Wow, I loved watching this video. Being a woman raised in the "South" I come correct. I remember one "Soul Food" Restaurant in the DMV that everyone swore by; turns out their veggies were from the can. The kitchen door swung open and I witnessed big cans of veggies on the shelves. My grandma taught us how to cook; Soul Food is cooking with love, put your time and heart into every dish. That means peeling potatoes; Cleaning and seasoning greens and green beans; homemade mashed potatoes; homemade from scratch desserts etc. And Sweet Tea that will make your mouth 💧🚰. I just watched your series. I was so upset I finished it in one day. I couldn’t get my eyes off of it. My daughter eyes were glued to the screen. She couldn’t even focus doing her homework. The minute I saw the cornbread muffin I knew that it was not going to taste good. I've never had chicken and waffles. The greens looked juicy. The Mac was not as creamy as I would have liked. I'm from Texas and we have huge cornbread muffins with plenty of butter. Good review 👍

I think I would like to try basic chicken wings dipped in a side of the Hennessey sauce. That way it retains the crunch, while not negating the full flavor of the sauce. The trick that I've seen to making fried chicken so juicy on the inside, is to make sure you brine the chicken overnight before you it's battered and fried. Great video, I'm hooked.

Their cornbread is a corn-'muffin...which is NOT the same! The cornbread I like has NO sugar, & some fresh bacon grease added into the mix. My Mom started out her homemade batter in a very hot 'cast iron' skillet, making sure to leave it on the stove top long enough for the bottom to be crusty and the middle to be partially set...Then, into a hot oven till done...The consistency is unequaled in the world of cornbread. I grew up on a farm & ranch & we always had plenty of fresh-churned butter..so, with fresh butter on the table near the cornbread, dinner was 'on!.'
As I said before it’s tough for Daym to get a true review of any spot at this point. His face is well known. The moment he walks in most spots you know the manager tells the people in the back to give him the best food. A normal person walking in wouldn’t get that same treatment! They’d probably give us normal people old food. Daym, they give the freshly cooked food to prevent a bad review!
If they are able to make good food why wouldn’t they just make it in the first place and also he doesn’t announce before he comes and to be fair even if they know who he is they won’t be able to recognize the guy in person

He is a very tall guy so I am sure he is noticed when walking in the door. As far as his face not being noticeable, you are delusional! Daym is well known! Especially on the east coast! The moment he walks into any spot I am sure the manager or lead staff member is immediately on high alert.

all the food looked crazy good but the greens my dad makes his greens and i have yet to find someone who can out do his greens

I leave skins on my potatoes for everything... Unless the potatoes are extra dirty. Skins are good for you. Will never understand peeling them.

wings yes. Cornbread eh....maybe not. I've seen better.
Their cornbread is a corn-'muffin...which is NOT the same! The cornbread I like has NO sugar, & some fresh bacon grease added into the mix. My Mom started out her homemade batter in a very hot 'cast iron' skillet, making sure to leave it on the stove top long enough for the bottom to be crusty and the middle to be partially set...Then, into a hot oven till done...The consistency is unequaled in the world of cornbread. I grew up on a farm & ranch & we always had plenty of fresh-churned butter..so, with fresh butter on the table near the cornbread, dinner was 'on!.'

As I said before it’s tough for Daym to get a true review of any spot at this point. His face is well known. The moment he walks in most spots you know the manager tells the people in the back to give him the best food. A normal person walking in wouldn’t get that same treatment! They’d probably give us normal people old food. Daym, they give the freshly cooked food to prevent a bad review!

If they are able to make good food why wouldn’t they just make it in the first place and also he doesn’t announce before he comes and to be fair even if they know who he is they won’t be able to recognize the guy in person

@@mrchicken6535 many places make great food. The thing is staff members are humans. Secondly, he doesn’t have to announce himself. He is a very tall guy so I am sure he is noticed when walking in the door. As far as his face not being noticeable, you are delusional! Daym is well known! Especially on the east coast! The moment he walks into any spot I am sure the manager or lead staff member is immediately on high alert.

@StephanieDotDot it definitely is. In CA at chicken restaurants. They charge u that price for like 2 or 3 pieces of chicken! That's why I always say, never mind, and go to the supermarket! Cook my own chicken!
