  • Gymshark has been my entire life since I started it as a teenager. After being awarded the UK's fastest growing company by the Fastrack 100 in the Times newspaper, I've decided to document my journey as the Gymshark owner & CEO.
My first video is a brief explanation of how Gymshark started, and the work we had to put in to get it to where it is today.
If anyone has any questions or anything they want to see in any future videos, please comment below!
Ps. Although I am a founder and am telling this story, there is a huge team of incredible people who have contributed, and continue to contribute to Gymshark every day. I hope to be able to show you more of what the team and I do in my future videos!
    I hope you enjoy :)

Instead of going out partying in college, this guy and his business partner hustled and put in the work and now they are where they are because they put in the time and effort for YEARS.

I laughed so hard but at the same time thought they’re right.
It fits perfectly to show the shoulders and bicep and tight on the core for that V shape, so a week later I order one and loved how it fit.
The rest is history as it became more and more popular to the point we’re theres gymshark shirts and leggins on every gym i go now as if it was Nike

Wow. I had no idea gymshark grew that fast. I remember watching matt's videos back in 2011-2012 and at some point he started wearing gymshark products. I loved how they fitted. My first purchase was a luxe tracksuit, I got 3 of them. I recently looked on my gymshark account and I've spent almost 500 pounds throughout the years and I must say although it seems like a fairly big amount for fitness clothing, I'd do it all over again. Had no idea I was actually part of what gymshark is today and I'm really happy. You guys have done something amazing. Congratulations!

Ever since childhood, I was always literally the cliche last kid chosen, unless it was football or something because I was big and heavy, "for defense". At the same time, I had asthma from my grandmother smoking in my bedroom, and also went to TaeKwonDoe. I was flexible and somewhat active, having no trouble running up the stairs and such, but running the mile was always a pain, taking, at the longest time I can remember, 19 minutes and 22 seconds. I got into lots of fights, and was bullied about my size, but I didn't care because I was able to fight back, and even resulted in a big fight which sent 2 kids to the hospital.
So in the middle of my sophomore year, at around 15 years old, I weighed 197 lbs. On a regular basis, I would ask the question "Are ya gonna eat that??", until I didn't have to ask anymore, and the table I was sitting at would be filled with food by the middle of lunch. My doctor had told me I was pre-diabetic and I honestly wasn't surprised, especially with how much I was eating. That's when I took something called phentermine, and despite me being prescribed for 2 months, I stopped after two weeks, because I was losing weight too quickly. I stopped going to my usual lunch spot, I started losing my usual happy smile mood, and I became tired, getting occasional blackouts, and not being able to move around because of the lack of energy. I just didn't want to eat anymore, I had absolutely no appetite. By the time I had finally stopped losing weight and plateauing, I weighed 140 lbs within three months.
I stayed at that weight till around the end of my junior year, just to stabilize and I wasn't really worried about my weight at about that time. Summer of my junior year came by, and my best friend, a pretty buff guy with abs and pretty big biceps started teasing me about how weak I was. I could almost do 20 pushups in a row, so I wasn't really sure what he was talking about, until he hit 50 in a row without sweat and I kicked him over.
Because of that, I tried to workout at home with some calisthenics. My family is too poor to afford a gym membership for me, so I was walking around in a park across from a place that I tutored over the summer, and I saw a weight room inside the park's community center. Low and behold, I became super excited and asked if it was free, did I have to sign up, what days they were open, and what times was it open. All my questions were answered and I started going regularly by the time school had started. Open for youths from 6:00pm-9:00pm from Tuesday to Friday, I went on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week. I couldn't go on Wednesday's and Friday's because of TaeKwonDoe, but I was still pretty ecstatic about being able to go.
I honestly had no idea what I was doing in there, but I was enjoying it despite how small it was. I copied what the 6'5 tall dude was doing with the 45 plate with a 10 plate, until I started watching fitness videos and the like. It happened to be David Laid, and from there, that's when I really started to consider myself as lifting. Then his videos started going on about this thing called Gymshark and I was like "UGHHHHHH ME WANTZ". I would browse the website for hours, but I knew my family couldn't afford it, so I just kept staring at the website, making a wishlist and going to the weight room thinking about wearing the clothes. Spring Break during senior year, I got my first gymshark clothing item, a black sleeveless hoodie from my sister in college. That was three weeks ago, and my birthday was just last week, meaning I'm now officially 18 years old.
I wear it every day, whether I go workout or not, and to celebrate my 18th birthday, I did 1800 pushups in 24 hours! As a personal evaluation, I have become a bit leaner than when I had finished losing weight, as my ribs and serrates anterior are a bit more visible while weighing 150 lbs. I get lots of compliments about how much I've changed and how I'm so fit, and I've been getting lots of questions on how to change. I would like to really thank Gymshark for motivating me on my journey to become a buff mofo, and I hope I can get some of my friends to buy me some clothes in the near future!

14 y/o my ultimate goal is to start my own brand of product i have several product ideas. I'm now getting into programming to start making apps and sites. I would use the money of the apps to start my own business. Once I'm 16 years old i can finally get a job. So i will save that money also for starting my business. I'm also saving all of my drinking money cause fuck candy and shit. That i can still buy when i got more money. Anyway i have a couple questions about getting a product on the market should i first get a pattent before i make it public or only once it's more popular. I don't remember the rest of my question now but i will comment them below when i remember them again.

I remember being in the gym on my own, and every session I would see this fella work out on his own too in a brightly coloured stringer. I kept wanting to go over and ask where he got that stringer from. Turns out it was Dan Crane in the first batch of GymShark gear. It was like a ritual, he would always do cardio at the end of his workout in his green GymShark stringer.
I wish I'd gone over and spoken to him back then. That was the start of GymShark, Gym4all Nottingham, hope you see this Dan.
