sigh... I just finally finshed Season 3 (after being up all night lol) and... I have to say that I was EXTREMELY impressed with the acting for this. I mean Jeremy Irons, amazing as always but the children. Holiday Grainger, Francois Aumand and David Oak (Lucrezia, Cesare and Juan) I was extemely impressed to how amazing their acting was. This was a really fantastic series; I loved it, and trust me, I'm like a Period Piece freak- that's my favourite type of film and series, so honestly, this was a really really great show!
Any actors who can hold their own against Jeremy Irons are legendary. ❤️
best show ever..watching Francois Arnaud become Cesare Borgia was some of the best time spent watching t.v. each actor did an outstanding job wish it would of been on for more seasons....
I am extremely devastated that they decided to cancel this show after the 3rd season. If only somehow, some way....they could bring it back. But we all know it's not possible. I will forever ship Lucrezia and Cesare.
David's voice is mesmerizing. I'm not even talking about Jeremy, because I can't even.

I do miss the 4th season. :( It is extremely fantastic, the actors are impressive and amazing. I have no idea when I saw this film first why it is so deeply effected but the answer is simple: this is the Godfather'story in 15th century.
The writer of The Godfather based the film on the Borgias. So literally the reverse haha

I have not seen this series. I saw episode 1 and thought it was lame but the more I see about it on TH-cam the more I start to want to see it! I love the series The Tudors and I think this two series is very alike. And love Lucrezia so much! She's so cute :)
They are alike because they were created and written by the same guy. He wrote and created Vikings too

It is a wonderful series, I bought it and have watched it several times, Just a shame they ran out of money and couldn't do a fourth season. But, it had to be expensive to make. With such a huge cast, so many horses. The costumes were divine. HBO did good on this one.

Hmm, the actor who plays Juan is actually interesting to listen to. I was wondering why he has such a following considering his characters on the Borgias and Pillars of the Earth are both weak people.

I first saw the 1981 BBC 2 show before this, but this Borgias is definately one of the best remakes of any eighties film or TV show I've seen! It really picks up in season 2 and I'm sure season 3 will be even better when Cesare relenquishes the cardinal robes and becomes a warlord in the Romanga.

@XanderAshkenaz lol, I know... well most the principal actors are british, except for Francois Arnaud, Lotte Verbeek and Colm Feore whom are québécoise, dutch and american (in that order) but they all try so hard to correctly pronounce the italian names (and most of the time almost do) that we could cut them some slack on the spanish, right? LOL! On the other hand, I think (though I can't be sure) the Borgia "kids" were all born in Rome, only the parents were born in Valencia...
I am definitely watching this!

@VivianJane1 i feel like whenever something takes place in the far past, the actors always have English accents no matter what. In Ever After, for instance, they're apparently French but they have British accents

I was sure, however, that there was no doubt that Cesare was younger than Juan. But I'm not a historian, so I need to check it out- especially the authors you've suggested. :)
Cesare was the second born, not the 1st as the story is told. you are right.
@ROGASSASSIN1 You already have Live Action AC vidoes. Now let the rest of us enjoy some real good acting and story teeling. The Borgias are fasciniting and contrary to the "Auditore family" actualy existed!
Cesare was the oldest brother only in Mario Puzo's book. In fact, Juan was one or two years older than Cesare.

@AmethystEyes yeah they seem a little to close. But they already cast the girl that played Bessie Blount in the tudors to be his love interest. so i really hope they don't go down that incest route even though historians say the family was full of incest
