    I was so afraid you were going to say that it was harmful! This just confirms that our decision to give 1 mg of melatonin to my son was a good decision. Even though we had a very consistent bedtime routine without screens after 5 PM, bedtime was taking upwards of three hours every night, with frequent wakings because he was so itchy due to excema. We are about to get him evaluated for autism, ADHD, and OCD. I’m very thankful that melatonin exists!

    Thank you! Both of my kids have autism and we don’t have trouble getting them to sleep but sometimes they wake up in the middle of the night or at 5 am and I really would prefer them to seep until at least 6 if possible. I will start with a better nighttime routine (turn off tablets, turn down lights, read a book) and then if that doesn’t help, maybe we will try melatonin

      But if Bluelight screwed up n deplete their melatonin levels, you might need melatonin to kickstart the levels back. Together wz 5-HTP. But pls continue maintain good sleeping habits, autism today is more stressful with all these e devices designed wz addictive wavelength n content. Take care..

    It's also called hormone of the dark because it has to be dark for it to be activated. If your room has lights on while you sleep it is diminished. If we knew this we wouldn't need so many prescriptions.

      I'm in complete darkness with no phone, nightshades, and earplugs to go to sleep and I can stay up involuntarily rolling back and forth for hours. I hate that part about insomnia.

    I'm not sure if you are still responding to messages here, but can melatonin use in smaller children used often lead to them becoming dependent, or have any other developmental effects? And if so, is it reversible?

      You wanna know something funny,
      The Italian doc dibella in the 1974 did an injection of 1000mg in a patient, they cure his sickness, and you guys should stop looking for scientists that try to get you out of melatonin

    • @riardhrigillespie8161
      @riardhrigillespie8161 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      that is *way* too much. 1mg or under is optimal. 30mg is not only wasteful it may actually cause your brain to downregulate melatonin.
