I just came across your video and thank God I did because I have been pulling my hair trying fingered this out. I also have watched other videos but nothing comes close to this one in a very informative way. Thank you for posting. I am a new follower.
Great video. One question. Lets say you have two shipping locations one in New York and one in Salt Lake City. When a customer from the Eastern half of the US buys a product I want shopify to select the New York shipping center and rates from and when a customer from the Western half of the US buys a product I want shopify to select Salt Lake City shipping center and rates from there. And how do I make sure that rates are based on each location. NY to LA is very expensive but SLC to LA is much cheaper and conversely NY to Atlanta is cheaper than SLC to Atlanta. Any suggestions on this?
Great question Michael! So within the location settings there is something called Order Routing. You can easily apply the rule to make sure the closest location, that has the inventory and has shipping capabilities, fulfills the order!
Hey! Thanks for the video. Just wondering how they will calculate the rate based on package size since in the product creation page it only asks me for the weight. Also, when I made the custom package size, it only allows me to select one default to use for calculated rates.
Great Video- I do have a question on calculated rates that I see was not covered in the video. I am starting a new business and I really need assistance. Can you tell me how to get in touch with you? Shopify online was not able to help either. Thank You
Thanks Jonna! I do have a carrier calculated shipping video coming very soon! And sure send me an email at p.c.business.contact@gmail.com and hopefully I can help!
Ah sorry Romero. I think the premade ones are just a flat rate. If you created a new trial again they should be preloaded and you can manually compare and add them to the existing store
Man..i got my product on hand with packaging and everything..ups and usps calculated rate dont allow me to check out and it says this store doesn’t ship to this address..i tried many different addresses and still no luck..contacted customer support and literally spoke with someone that sounded like they dont even know what shopify is and had to escalate it but no responses yet 😢😢😢😢

Thanks Epic! Unfortunately it is a frustrating limitation of the current platform, there are a few apps that can do that for you, like Boxify.

How could i preload the premade rates again, because i was trying to edit something and i notice that it’s not there anymore. 🤦🏼♂️

Thank you for the suggestion
17 min 30 what if the product is 10.15 pounds and falls between two categories? Would it create an error at check out?
Hey Gab! Yes it would this is a common mistake as you need to make sure the weight conditions also include the weight of your shipping package 📦
How do you add in packaging cost to shipping
Hey! There isn't a native way on Shopify to do that exactly without an app. The easiest solution is just to add it to the cost of the flat rate
