Not necessarily getting dated, but i think the problem is that it wasnt really a Neutral evil. It was more of a Neutral Neutral, which has no real place on Vanilla tbh.

I still would like to see Amne being able to select a dead role during the day instead of getting a random dead role in the morning. Wouldn't lose them a night and they'd have more agency
Bers having book is a funny now (i know this is a balance thing to ensure Bers is playable in Pandora). Its like Berserker needs to read a book on how to punch people. Also if bers have book on N1, does that mean Bers can attack on N1?
I might have missed it, but does Voodoo Master automatically kill jester then by failing chatterbox? If a Baker reveals and illuminates a player, in a non-pandora game mode, can ritualist still guess them? (Is illuminate faction specific as opposed to a player modifier)
This was answered in the teaser posted on the subreddits a few days ago, but when a Jester is silenced, their Chatterbox count is set to 0 so they don't get killed
I agree with reducing the number of NA that can spawn in game modes outside of 4Horsemen, but I think restricting them solely to 1 is a little much. I don't think 2 NA in a game would be completely busted.
I personally like how you made apocs solo. That's a change I've always wanted, since apocs have game ending abilities, and 4 apoc vs 4 coven would most likely end in an apoc win if neither of the factions get unlucky. However, I have 2 concerns about the change. 1. I like the Pb buff but the other apocs need reworks too. Bers is fine imo, because it's basically a werewolf without the track ability but with more kill power. On the other hand, baker and soul collector are too weak. I think baker needs to be turned into the btos 2 baker. Being able to claim tav, cleric, or ti would be a very great buff in exchange for it becoming a solo role. I have 2 ideas for sc. Either sc should stay the same as before but only need 4 souls but can *not* interact with dced players, or required souls should stay at 6 and reaps only stay for the night + next day but implement the changes in the video. I think it makes more sense because now that you can't spawn with a bers on your team, guessing a kill on nights become harder. If you only need 4 souls, day 3 death is possible, but if you guessed a kill on night 1 *and* night 2, you have insane luck and deserve the win. Typically though, it should be a day 4 to day 5 death, which I would consider it to be fair, especially with sc being solo. 2. I'm worried that with the removal of apoc as a faction, there's no longer the fun of 2 evil factions going against each other. True, there are nks but they aren't faction evils, they are solo roles, just like the new apocs. When I was dreaming about how to make apocs solo back in August, I thought it was a good idea to split coven into 2 factions, coven and cult. The number of each sub alignment should be the same on each team. (There shouldn't be too many cpow roles on one team.) I mainly started dreaming of that because of the pm+rit and witch+rit combo. If pm and witch are on a different team as rit, then that problem is solved. However, after I found about the compliance and with the new illumination change, I think compliance being a modifier that's automatically included in the game is a good idea. With this though, I think werewolf being able to mass delete people in a night would become a balance problem. Arso is fair since coven has hm. Perhaps in this case, werewolf should be unique plus werewolf and SK can't spawn in together? I still think coven vs compliance is unbalanced though, because compliance naturally gets more kill power. Sorry for yapping too much, but I needed to get this off my shoulders.😅
Pirate is just Inquisitor now and tbh that’s not a bad thing, inquisitor is a cool role and it can honestly change things up, it’s nice to have a role that isn’t just up to RNG
While it's nice that Exe can no longer get Town Power/Amne as a target, I'm going to miss the ability to visit, which is very useful when being tracked especially when your target dies or if you were roleblocked n1. I don't like the encouraging of early game NE wins, I feel like late game NE wins tend to be the most skillful and rewarding ones whereas earlier ones often just involve a coin flip through a 1f1. I'm curious if the Jester chatterbox requirement also prevents them from spamming? My only concern with the requirement as it stands is that it might prevent the victory of a Jester who is talkative earlier in the game but quiet later on if perhaps outed, if they happen to get prosecuted first thing, though this would be a rare event. While the Deputy change makes fake claiming it easier now, which is nice, and there will be less random Dep Shot n1 annoyances, I feel like playing Deputy is simply going to be pretty boring now especially if you misfire on an apoc/nk through no fault of your own. I'm willing to give new Investigator/Spy a chance, but I will definitely miss old Spy as I feel like it was an underrated and skill based TI with great ability to confirm itself. I'm left wondering how much weaker the absence of old Bugs will leave town against Apoc/Arsonist. Sorry for the wall of text, maybe that sounds like a lot of criticism but I'm just nerding out and I'm excited to see how the new changes overall will play out and I think overall these are positive changes.
no hate but it really does suck we're, what, 2 years in and the only new roles are roles that have been in the modded game for over a year. was hoping it would be a new idea
Tuba you should make that you can STILL stone gaze teammates even with necronomicon (just like illusionist) incase of a solo medusa right? Well. If medusa can stone gaze self lol
YEAAHHHH I'm a big fan of the medusa buff. stone gazing people before they die, is just great opportunity for deception! Also love being able to stone gaze your teammates too. Don't know *when* that may be needed, but good to have nonetheless! I really like this! Goodie, fixed witched players not showing role to faction! Lots of good changes honestly.
I'm just glad that I no longer have to hang a revealed mayor as my target Are there any ideas circulating for Dreamweaver? (Other than just giving it MH)
The Update gives all Neutral Evils defense for n1 and n2, but this doesn't apply to Pirate. BTOS 2 Inquisitor has it and Jester was also given defense, so Pirate should get the n1 and n2 defense too
About a change for Crusader in vanilla what if they protected someone from a direct attack would ensure the attacker who visited would always be targeted by the crus kill?
Nice job on the patch! I'm not sure how I feel about the Necromancer change though. On its own, it seems okay, but it feels like Retributionist just gets shafted even more. Between evils hitting defense, hitting other evils and hitting useless-to-resurrect-townies, it isn't rare for multiple days to pass by before finally having a corpse that can be used. And on top of that, the Necromancer could take priority over what you wanted to use for that first night... but now? The necromancer can block you for eternity! Even though Deputy can now be used, that hardly makes up for the fact that the chance of being functionally useless is probably worse than before. Sure, the chance of a useful town corpse in graveyard has increased with the dep change, but since necromancer can hog it, this will make no difference for early game. Meanwhile, late game is supposed to be when Retributionist is at its strongest, but with the Necromancer having both priority and infinite uses, it feels like Retributionist got nerfed instead. So I feel this role needs a little bit of a buff purely for it to be more fun. How about being able to 'ward' the future grave of a chosen player during night one, which would give the Retributionist priority over Necromancer when fighting over specifically that corpse later in the game? This would offer a little bit of an edge in a Necromancer game; perhaps even the winning edge. Then Coven/Necromancer can't just assume that they will be able to overcome a Retributionist's perceived best move simply by having an edge in terms of their role. To make it useful in general, just treat it as the ability to bestow defense during only night one. (Or cause UO in case Retri being confirmed n1 by some sort of fluke is undesirable.) Nobody enjoys dying night one, and it will slow games down just a bit more, so I don't think it could hurt much given how utterly random the first night tends to be.
@@HunteryGo if we go with the logic, the Witch makes the Vigilante visit, which means they don't have time to load the bullet (since the gun starts empty), so their gun is empty, meaning they don't shoot. (That might break the achievement.)
@@fireball54110I was actually witched n1 as vigi after update. I didn’t shoot (idk if I visited), however I didn’t load my bullet and I actually lost one. I don’t know if losing a bullet supposed to be a bug.
Personally, I believe Retributionist has been kind of cucked. I've always wondered why there was no one at all in the graveyard at the beginning of the day (It's not like this is some kind of 100% new town) So why doesn't Retributionist have some useable roles night 1? My own personal idea has been to include 2 or 3 different useable town roles in the graveyard night 1 and to have the bodies decay after night 2 or something so that Retributionist CAN do something while waiting for other useable town roles to die. Retributionist early game is incredibly unfun to play and lategame they are going to be potentially fighting with Necromancer for town corpses. At least this way a Retributionist won't be cucked out of using their role. (There have been games in All Any where I've gotten Retributionist and had another Retributionist die Night 1 and had nothing to use Night 2) This might not be a good or wonderful fix, but town roles should at least feel like they have SOME impact.
I think a good change for Amnesiac would be to allow them to remember a town role during the day, and it takes effect immediately. I.E. if Coroner dies n1 and then Conjurer nukes Mayor/Marshall/Jailor or literally anyone else d2, the amne can take over that role and town gets a message for it the moment it happens. If the amne doesn't pick then it gets chosen for them at the end of the day using the priority system that's in place.
My main issue with the update is not the update, it’s the fact that, knowing how most people in this game are, it will be a mess the first few weeks due to everyone trying to take in so many changes at once. Regardless, I do like most changes, except the Necromancer one, it makes Retributionist weak.. but that’s just my opinion.
@@yikerbones9824Correct, but so can Necro, and since Necro always has priority over Retri the Retri will never get to use those corpses, at least for a while.
Well, seems like we did get lots of decent changes to the game. Honestly, I have a small opinion that there should be some setting for private lobbies to make some personal changes for roles (for example: using old deputy, which just starts blastin'), because the game slowly goes more towards "seriousness" (don't get me wrong, I do like this) over just having fun, and this may shift the community in some sort. However, I'm not the one to make changes, I'm just a humble watcher. Just let's hope that it all won't end up as it was after S3😅 Anyway, it's time for me to go, so make sure to have fun and Remember: nobody should know...
While understand majority of the changes and can agree with most (holy hell, this invest is a much better take than previous ones, jester getting buffed LOL, pirate being basically turned into inqui which BASED, fave role, FINALLY a good pros change also, been long overdue, good job) and will take some time to come in terms with others (while I agree with the new priority, I really don’t think necro should have infinite uses over corpses now that it has 100% priority, that makes ret way too underwhelming, especially in all any where it’s already unlikely to get a useful corpse, let alone more than just one that will be now hogged by necro)… why remove poison from “poison”-er and not make a new role instead? Poisoner should be just moved out of CU and into the CK category and that would be an enough of a nerf for it without changing a fundamental thing about it. I get the need to add UO to something else than town roles but can’t you simply add the NPs into the game instead? Auditor and SS are both well tested and loved roles that could also bring in a great slowdown to the game and frankly would make game modes like All Any much better in vanilla because it would discourage at least some throwers more + yk, cool new role that isn’t a town role. I don’t really understand keeping the name when you remove poison ngl. I both like and dislike the modded deputy getting into vanilla. It’s better, don’t get me wrong but I also feel like it’s a little too weak of a tk in this setting? I have no idea how one would make it better tho and at least now you can’t misfire so I’ll take that change over the dep that can shoot anyone and remove two town from the game on d2. Mixed feelings on vigi as well as I really don’t think it needed a nerf, being one of the most well-balanced roles in the game already taking in the evil killpower… but I guess it won’t change too much since most vigis normally wait a night after first shot regardless? Gotta see how it feels to form a proper opinion there, I guess. But hey, finally a rit nerf AND lovers mode added in modded? Hell yeah to that
As someone that rarely gets a game of modded, this is so so good 🙏🙏 It favours evils in a GOOD way, where there aren’t like 7 townies in the game that can auto confirm themselves by day 3. No more deputies throwing. Easier to fake claim roles for the better. I might actually enjoy playing as coven+apoc+nk now because of these changes. HYPED about the pirate and exe change too
For Retributionist + the new Necromancer priority change, I would like to know -- is Retri priority randomized every night, or only on game start? There's a bit of nuance there, so; game start RNG will make it a little easier to detect Necro (anyone who gets priority 2x in a row on contested corpses is clearly Necro) vs. the possible argument that "I just got lucky twice I'm totally not Necro" if it's night-based RNG. (This is mostly for Necros who do the 'easy' Retri claim and not something else.) I'm really glad Investigator is now the BToS2 version, I always found the old one confusing; easily my favorite change. I think the new Exe change is great, it gives incentive for Exes to stay quiet about it + makes them more of a threat. The Poisoner change I wasn't expecting, but I like Starspawn already so I think it'll be a welcome one. Dusa's stone gaze lasting until death has never been my favorite change, and I'm still not a fan of it, but that's my personal opinion and I don't have a great reason for it. Rest in peace, rock-paper-scissors Pirate. I have a feeling that one's gonna be hard split between love it/hate it opinions (I'm personally gonna miss it, though); I think I'd like new Pirate a little more if it kept its role-blocking ability (maybe Scour could get that added to it? I just love when Pirates cause chaos okay x'D) Finally, I don't like the Illuminated change; even if it raises the skill ceiling for veteran players, I'm worried it'll be too punishing for newbie player Ritualists who haven't learned how to scum read yet. ToS2 already has a huge "unfriendly to new players" problem. Maybe if the game slows down enough with the other Coven and TK changes, it'll be fine, though.
I personally think conjurer should also get nerfed like deputy (only basic attack), for balance purposes. Let's say you're a random NA/NK (meaning you're most likely solo) and you get attacked by coven, you don't necessarily receive the benefit of your immunity if the conj nukes you next day immediately. This change won't matter against town/late game NEs, but it'll give NKs and NA another chance. And it's not that big of a nerf to coven too since they have the Ritualist for sniping people anyways. I also think powerful attack shouldn't be given "for free" like the conj gets - every other role has some caveat holding them back (SKs need blood lust, WWs need full moon, arsos need douses, Bers is solo, Ritualist now requires a high standard of play and so on) What do you think?
That's a very good point and what I worry about too -- think that's unintentional killing power for Coven there. Jesters probably should be immune to Chatterbox for the day if they lose their voice to Voodoo, since otherwise that's an easy way to take out Jesters without risking a Coven getting haunted
How will Necromancer function with book with ghoul removed? Do they get ghoul if all other coven are dead or is there a replacement for it without the more troublesome aspects of an astral attack? Alongside the Vigilante nerfs my intuition is that Necromancer has gone from what really should be a CPow to the fourth member of a three coven game (if town gets their hangs in the right order).
The vanilla update is quite meh and good but i like the new roles changes I'm not gonna lie I expected a new gamemode or special modifier and for the better tos2 update I like everything :) thanks Tuba
Edit: Still like most of the changes, but I won't play again unless apoc gets either reverted or the cap goes up to 2-3. Singlehandedly ruined the patch for me
I don't play tos but enjoy watching it. I dislike the new update mostly since it gets rid of some iconic stuff such as deputy going hee-haw midday. btw the new oracle role seems way too op.
They can still kill with the roleblock ability. They can't kill with Smog because that would allow them to kill anyone with UOing all TPs on them which is broken
@@TubaAntics I'm going to guess then that Smog will also block _another_ Coven with book from attacking, since that would probably be busted for the same reason (even if it does require two Coven dedicating their nights to that)?
1. I accept any criticism here, you're free to present your arguments on why ANY of the changes are bad with being constructive 2. My job is not being a moderator on Steam forums or discord. Stop copy pasting btos mod. The roles are horrendous and ever since they've been copy pasted they needed to be changed and reworked multiple times. Vigilante change is dumb. Give him his bullets back and have him off himself if he kills a townie. Poisoner doesn't poison anymore instead it smogs. Change the name to smoger. Necromancer ghoul removal makes no sense. Ritualist Potion master, Ritualist Witch combo removal is straight up moronic. Good luck getting through Exodia tp chains. Limitations such as solo apoc on all any just don't make sense. Stop adding more restrictions to the most (and only) fun mode in the entire game. Poor spy hasn't been good since the browser era where he could listen to mafia speaking. Lookout not being astral is another copy paste from btos the Ego is simply ridiculous. Pirate change is just the worst. "We changed dueling because getting dueled and effectively roleblocked felt bad!!" WELL DUH? It's a neutral evil role. You know what feels worse than getting dueled? Getting killed. What's next then is Neutral Killing not going to kill anyone anymore because dying feels bad? (I'm also seeing some comments about new pirate being similar to inquisitor or whatever awful role btos had but the ego is just insane guys. Again, I don't know if you're one of the devs from btos team but if so, please stop copy pasting your mod it's not good, it's never been good. The mod is better in name alone. It's always been Worse Town of Salem.
@@TubaAntics As for feedback: Poisoner... doesn't poison? Why? Make a new role for that if you need it, a poisoner that doesn't poison is blatantly stupid. Why no ghoul? wtf? Solo apoc in AA? Great, now we get a fuckton more DC'ers. Great way to ruin AA. (If AA got the 4 horsemen modifier, I'd have no issues here) Pirate is not pirate. Pirate was removed and Inquisitor was added. Why the fuck remove pirate instead of just adding inquisitor itself? People love pirate :( (I would've been fine with Neutral Special / True Any system to remove it from AA, but pirate just does not exist anymore, Inquisitor is just wearing a pirate costume and impersonating him. That's not cool.) This all coming from someone who ***DOES*** like BTOS2.
i bet All Any mode will see more D1 disconnect because of the mutually exclusive apoc role. apoc is too slow for solo, but too powerful for a full team. and that's the problem.
My RNG Pirate is Saved! These changes are very good balance-wise. Criticism here is really uncalled for. Complaints are players either used to a certain mechanic or finding a change unfun. And no, "This change is ported from btos2 therefore it is bad" is not a reason to dislike the change. Tried Vigilante on Stream and I think the change is really healthy to make it equivalent in strength to some other tks (And also whether you admit it or not, old Vigi was really fun and really strong)
UO on vanilla tos im gonna explode. btw that pirate change is goated i HATED rps pirate i always lost edit: that solo apoc change for vanilla was not it :/
"unnecessary"? My guy, Pirate was literally the most *luck-based* role in all of TOS2. And even then, Nobody enjoyed having to gamble with RPS. What's that? You wanted to play the game? Nope. You're doing RPS. It was very much needed. Plus, BTOS2 is better than TOS2. Tuba is trying to fix the neglect and mistakes of BMG when they gave up on TOS2.

Nice Common Curtis L there.
I might have missed it, but does Voodoo Master automatically kill jester then by failing chatterbox?
If a Baker reveals and illuminates a player, in a non-pandora game mode, can ritualist still guess them? (Is illuminate faction specific as opposed to a player modifier)
It does say faction specific for Baker.
This was answered in the teaser posted on the subreddits a few days ago, but when a Jester is silenced, their Chatterbox count is set to 0 so they don't get killed
Thank you both!
My life is a *Unknown Obstacle*
RIP Pirate and Spy
Spy is fine. Pirate needed this change. It was unhealthy to play against. Imagine literally losing because of Rock Paper Scissors.
Pirate is just Inquisitor now and tbh that’s not a bad thing, inquisitor is a cool role and it can honestly change things up, it’s nice to have a role that isn’t just up to RNG
@@TheNorwellianI CC inquis my heretics are PM, Adm, and PB

Regarding the vigilante change? Can a witch still make a vigilante shoot n1 as I assume they dont have any bullets loaded.
It could before the nerf
@@Od1nM Im wondering about after this rework
@@HunteryGo if we go with the logic, the Witch makes the Vigilante visit, which means they don't have time to load the bullet (since the gun starts empty), so their gun is empty, meaning they don't shoot. (That might break the achievement.)

CUT MY LIFE INTO UNKNOWN
THIS IS MY LAST OBSTACLE
I think a good change for Amnesiac would be to allow them to remember a town role during the day, and it takes effect immediately. I.E. if Coroner dies n1 and then Conjurer nukes Mayor/Marshall/Jailor or literally anyone else d2, the amne can take over that role and town gets a message for it the moment it happens. If the amne doesn't pick then it gets chosen for them at the end of the day using the priority system that's in place.
No transporter? :(
Two nights being Iluminated is too much...
“Between 1-4 messages” for jest? So they will die if they send more than that?
Minimum, so that you cant just pretend afk for a very easy win.
Ret can use vigi and dep a billion times
@@yikerbones9824Correct, but so can Necro, and since Necro always has priority over Retri the Retri will never get to use those corpses, at least for a while.
@ With all due respect, did you even watch the video? It is clearly said Necro can now use town corpses infinitely.
Hell yeah to that
If a vigi gets rbd N1, will they load N2 and shoot N3? odd nerf if so...
If mayor is killed by coven N1, he won't be able to reveal. Kinda odd...
I have an important question.
Why #BG can be recognized by the game as Bodyguard
And :UO is not recognized as :Unknown Obstacle?
For chatterbox requirement to be valid, I think the jester should be immune to Voodoo Master. Also does it count for D0?
VM does not screw over jester we took that into account
As someone that rarely gets a game of modded, this is so so good 🙏🙏 It favours evils in a GOOD way, where there aren’t like 7 townies in the game that can auto confirm themselves by day 3. No more deputies throwing. Easier to fake claim roles for the better. I might actually enjoy playing as coven+apoc+nk now because of these changes.
HYPED about the pirate and exe change too
Apoc always being solo is brutal
For Retributionist + the new Necromancer priority change, I would like to know -- is Retri priority randomized every night, or only on game start? There's a bit of nuance there, so; game start RNG will make it a little easier to detect Necro (anyone who gets priority 2x in a row on contested corpses is clearly Necro) vs. the possible argument that "I just got lucky twice I'm totally not Necro" if it's night-based RNG. (This is mostly for Necros who do the 'easy' Retri claim and not something else.)
I'm really glad Investigator is now the BToS2 version, I always found the old one confusing; easily my favorite change.
I just love when Pirates cause chaos okay x'D)
Finally, I don't like the Illuminated change; even if it raises the skill ceiling for veteran players, I'm worried it'll be too punishing for newbie player Ritualists who haven't learned how to scum read yet. ToS2 already has a huge "unfriendly to new players" problem. Maybe if the game slows down enough with the other Coven and TK changes, it'll be fine, though.
Hangman... We knew ye well 🫡
So does a Voodoo Master just straight up kill a Jester?
2:16 wait wtf no oracle in normal tos2 until now???
I personally think conjurer should also get nerfed like deputy (only basic attack), for balance purposes. Let's say you're a random NA/NK (meaning you're most likely solo) and you get attacked by coven, you don't necessarily receive the benefit of your immunity if the conj nukes you next day immediately. This change won't matter against town/late game NEs, but it'll give NKs and NA another chance. And it's not that big of a nerf to coven too since they have the Ritualist for sniping people anyways.
I also think powerful attack shouldn't be given "for free" like the conj gets - every other role has some caveat holding them back (SKs need blood lust, WWs need full moon, arsos need douses, Bers is solo, Ritualist now requires a high standard of play and so on)
What do you think?
10:48 Jester having chatterbox means Voodoo can now kill them if they aren't voted up that day?
LMAO that's true, I didn't think about that
That's a very good point and what I worry about too -- think that's unintentional killing power for Coven there. Jesters probably should be immune to Chatterbox for the day if they lose their voice to Voodoo, since otherwise that's an easy way to take out Jesters without risking a Coven getting haunted
@@SalamanderMoon They thought about that. If you're silenced, the Chatterbox requirement doesn't apply.

Pretty sure that Necro with book now works the same as any other coven members. It's a simple direct visit
