I reapplied and I was given but it was withdrawn the second time due to a general reason that they have gotten the number of students they want from my Country. • @TayTay14333

      I don’t think they are concerned with that. Rather they would want to understand what research you are looking to do, what gap are you trying to fill? Is it feasible? Does it align to your career progression. They would be more concerned about your admission to the bar probably if it were like a job post, however this is you getting an education to progress your career.

    This was an educative video. Quick question; is the $20 000 CAD scholarship mentioned only for the living costs or it’s for both tuition and living costs?
    You guys didn’t really get into that in the video.
    If it’s for both, will it be enough to cover a year’s costs or do you need to find more funding? I really want a further explanation on that.
    Thanks in advance🌻

    • @boluayomide56
      @boluayomide56 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Elizabeth, the $20,000 is usually stated as the cost of your scholarship. It covers your tuition entirely. You can apply the stipends from the $20k paid to you to your living cost if you so wish.
      Whether it will be enough to cover a year’s cost of living is subjective. It highly depends on your budget and expenditure. I hope this helps.

    Great talk, very helpful insights.
    I have a couple of questions
    1. Can u end up doing something different from what your may have written in your proposal
    2. Is the 10 hours a week all year round including the summer hols
    3. When should one start working towards getting a job after school, ie. The time u are given to work immediately after graduation.
    4. Is it still OK to write to individual professors for supervision or is it frowned upon.
    5. Say I apply for environmental law, can I switch to corporate law.
    6. Cab i transfer credits, say I come for a phD. Can I get credits courses I took in master's
    Thanks in advance. You guys are awesome❤

    • @boluayomide56
      @boluayomide56 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I will take questions 1 & 5 together. You can’t do something different from what you submitted in your proposal. Yes, you are allowed to rephrase your topic, but you can’t substantially change the subject. You can’t switch your specialization after resumption, because your supervisor, funding and admission were based on those factors. Changing your specialization might be tantamount to a reversal of your admission offer. But I’d advise you reach out to the college of post graduate studies and the faculty of law for guidance on that.
      Question 2: As long as you are registered for classes during summer and receiving funding, I believe the 10hour rule should apply during summer hols.
      Question 3: You must apply for a PGWP within 180 days of receiving written confirmation from the University of Saskatchewan indicating that you have met the requirements for completion of your academic program. The date of your graduation ceremony is not relevant, you don’t have to wait until the graduation ceremony to apply for the PGWP.
      I hope I answered all your questions😊
      Question 4: I already addressed that in the video. You don’t have to any professor for supervision.

      My friend says you can apply but you may not be a competitive candidate.
      No harm in trying if you ask me.

      For someone who just finished Law school in Nigeria and wants to proceed to Masters over there. Would you write GRE or IELTS for funding

    • @MsYemisi
      @MsYemisi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Check the requirements for law in the school. Usually Nigerians have a waiver for IELTS and GRE is usually for management/finance/accounting courses.
      Go on the website (I believe a link is in the description box)

    About what u said, we do not need to contact a supervisor before we submit an application for admission does it apply to other courses or only to LLM.

    • @MsYemisi

      Hello, I will say of you're applying to other courses, check their requirements for that course first.

    • @frankO6

      ACCORDING TO THE GEOLOGICAL SCIENCE DEPARTMENT: You will need to contact the faculty that are doing research in an area that interests you before beginning a formal application. You cannot be admitted to this program without a faculty supervisor in place.

      Then it means exactly what's stated there. By the way, she was speaking for law. So, it differs for programs.
