Margo Martindale was by far the best 1 season villain on Justified. The way she could just shift Mags from sweet widow woman to the wicked witch was amazing.
An incredible ending to the best episode of Justified, a true hall of fame culmination of scenes. The hero gets to live, save the child, and his love interest ends being the reason his life is ultimately spared. The look on Raylan's face as he realizes that Doyle is going to shoot him and he knows his time is up. Winona being a few steps ahead of him, going to Art and tearfully pleading with him to save Raylan. The marshal service showing up and saving the day. Raylan saving Loretta from a lifetime of suffering and guilt. Mags final drink. What a modern day masterpiece.
He played Frank Bennett, Ruth's abusive husband in "Fried Green Tomatoes" with Mary Stuart Masterson - whose character 'Idgy', who he flirted with and asked her name, and she told him her name was Tawonda...
"This bullet's been on its way for 20 years." This was as great a modern day Hatfield v. McCoy you could've spun. Fitting end too, Doyle getting popped before he can shoot Raylan. Mags having to confess to what really went down with Loretta's father and Mags settling things with Raylan before going out the same way Loretta's father did. I think Mags really did want to do right by Loretta but it was always going to be difficult pulling that off with the knowledge that inevitably the truth would reveal itself about where he was and what role Mags had in it.
Mags was insane. She killed Loretta's father because she wanted a daughter. She knew her boys were fuckups who'd ruin the family business, and she saw in Loretta someone she could mold into a future leader.
Absolutely right. I've seen this series through about a dozen times and never caught the similarities. You really can't beat the characters and story in Justified.
The woman playing Mags is absolutely phenomenal... I haven't seen this show, and everything I know about it comes from the story fragments you get watching clips online like this, but I remember reading that 2 of the supporting actors who were on this show won an Emmy for their performance. Guessing Margo Martindale was one of them for sure!
It's interesting. You know it's Tim who fired the shot, but I don't think they unnecessarily dumbed it down to the audience, to confirm it. He's a sniper and carrying a sniper rifle, so it's a reasonable assumption. But I'm not 100% sure. More like 99.5%. They may have confirmed it later.
Such a shame esteemed character actress Margo Martindale died in a freak boating collision off the coast of Hollywoo, causing a massive spill of spaghetti. Thankfully Mr. Peanutbutter was there to save the day.

I loved her too. Not a big fan of Rappaport, but I liked the guy in season three and how could anyone say she was better than Sam Elliot?
I loved Choo Choo too
To this day, my wife and I will say "The poison was already in the glass" whenever one of us hands the other a drink.
Terrific actor, if you haven't you might enjoy Sneaky Pete in which she is a main character - she's just great as Mags
The best villain will always be Boyd, though asometimes he seemed to be on the side of good

Everything came together in this - characters, narrative, plot, visuals. Perfect
Back when writers were actually talented, creative, intelligent people rather than automatons serving the message.
Nah, pure garbage is more like it 🤮
@@forest8779Well… it does take a certain level of sophistication to appreciate fine writing and acting. 🙄
@@forest8779 you gotta let us know what it feels like to have zero taste, a rare breed!
"It's good to see you, Art" and Art's responsive look both say so much in just a few seconds. Amazingly written and acted. Just wow.
"On the ground hillbillies." Art is great!

3:39....Tim can't dribble a basketball & his handwriting is barely legible...but he DON'T MISS....👍👍

Well she did make Loretta the most powerful woman in Harlin

Best show ever
Love how Lorettas gunshot ended the whole clan.
When ole Mags offers you something to drink...
DON'T ACCEPT IT....
Mags really misread who she was dealing with.
One of the best tv series
One of the all time best series ever. I wish it would come back

buy the series!!!
There are rules here on Fx who never meant to be broken if it was it for Raylan Givens, I’d rather be toast right now!
This plot line was perfectly written
this show was so good
Kentucky sure does look like Southern California.
Mags loved her way more than any of her three sons!
Enjoy your Apple Pie, Mags
Mags was the best villain of Justified, she and Boyd.
It's esteemed character actress Margo Martindale!
Ohhh, esteemed character actor Margot Martindale is tight!
Phenomenal show
I don't think they ever say it was Tim, but it was.

The first thing I thought when I saw that shot, "Oh, you know that's Gutterson."
@@jasonexplosion154 Yep, for me it was a "Ah, Tim's here too" moment.
"This bullet's been 20 years coming."
oops, looks like it is going to be put off coming indefinitely
Marshall has a taillight out.
Fevret hero 😅😅

God I miss this show.
Yep… one in a million
The reboot is nowhere near as good its too pc. I still watch it because i like oliphant as an actor.
And thats how you do it.
Olifant means elephant in deutch .
That didn't look like a gunfight to me..
Hush
"Raylan's gunfight" lol. More Loretta's gunfight, she at least fired a shot...
Possibly the best show behind Miami Vice 🇺🇲
I'm so sad about the state of entertainment. Holy shit, this was fun...but my has the bar dropped. Thanks Disney Star Wars...
