I really like the open roads card. I called a couple times for customer service n they were great. Much easier fueling at the truck stops. Lots of room with an rv. Happy thanksgiving to everyone. We are having kids grandkids n our first great granddaughter this thanksgiving. 20 total. Jeff n Karen
Ang you're a hoot but what is wrong with you? You bring a toy tornado to the tornado shelter to cheer up the scared kids?! Bahahahahaa Love this chick. lol
New to the channel. Thank you for your content. One of the first of you videos I viewed was when you had to head for shelter during a storm. I agree with the logic of the candy canes. Having hard candy of any sort may assist someone in need. I don’t have an RV yet, however, already planning my emergency bag.
I went to basic training and AIT at Fort Sill, Home of the Artillery. I never got to explore the area, though. It's so cool to see what's around there, but Tornado Alley though ...
Alright Ang, here you go, I had no idea what was in DEF. Even as a school bus driver. Nice thing was I never had to deal with it. Only had to fuel up, the mechanics took care of everything else.
I’ve been using open roads for about 1.5 years. Being a numbers guy, I have kept track of all my transactions using the card. I also have a transaction calculation that helps determine which price is the cheapest overall (total cost). Saving the most on a per gallon cost doesn’t always lead to the cheapest overall price. The more you save per gallon the larger the “program fee” you pay (10% of total savings). My calculation takes all of that into consideration and lets me know which price cost me the least amount of money. Here are a few metrics from my spreadsheet: Overall gross savings in 1.5 years - $459. Overall net savings (includes program fee and 0.40 cent gas station fee) - $393. Average net savings per gallon - 0.383 cents per gallon. Average net price per gallon - $3.314. The “net” prices include the program fee and gas station fee. The per gallon cost on their app doesn’t include those fees. On average the fees add about another 0.06 - 0.07 cents per gallon to their advertised price.
I live in Oklahoma and absolutely love my state. I have been in Texas working for the past 4 months. Going home soon! Thanks for sharing a piece of my home state!!!! Meers is sooo good!
Join the Love’s club for Ang’s snacks ! Might as well get points for pump purchases to get snacks for the road! Happy Thanksgiving! We will be flying to KC to see our 2 month old granddaughter! And of course our daughter too, 😂
Hey guys 👋 😃, Ang great bag packing. I do enjoy how your mind works. I look forward to seeing what you guys will come out with next. Thanks for the enjoyment 😉.
Unrelated to this video, but I tried a chimichanga today for the first time. We eat Mexican food once a month or so, but I never tried one before. I credit Cody’s love of the chimichanga. It was fantastic! Just one of the many things I learned here. Adding tornado toys to the child bug out bag. Let me know if you have a hurricane toy you recommend. Are you that was a bee and not a yellow jacket?
Oh nice! 😁We have had many a chimichanga and it seems that there are so many different ones. Most are pretty good, but there are amazing chimis out there. 😁 It COULD have been a yellow jacket. We wavered back and forth on it.
Cody, I would argue that if it weren't for Angela and her crumb spills, you'd never know how much you love cleaning your truck. Furthermore, that peaceful solitary routine may also provide a respite for her, so maybe there's a logic to this that you both enjoy. Sneaky smart, Angela!😁👍🏾💙🤍❤️
If you like Elk you’d love our home in the mountains of Arizona. We get Elk in our yard often. We’ve even had them on the front pour eating out of the bird feeders.
Thanks for all the beautiful place and scenery that y’all show. This just adds to the list of places we need to visit. Glad to see y’all made it through all the storms and are safe. Cody the Bee would not drink much he was thirsty. Y’all have a great and safe Thanksgiving come by Tenn and will set a plate out for y’all stay safe and happy travels.
Good morning. Your videos bring us so much enjoyment. Every Tuesday and Saturday we check to see if you have posted your video! We are looking to get a dash cam. Which one do you use/recommend?
That means a lot, thank you! ☺️ We launch at 5AM Central. 🙃 We love the thought of having a dash cam (and have had a lot of offers to try different ones), but our dash looks like a spaceship already and we are struggling with the thought of more clutter. We researched SOME brands, but not enough to know too much or be locked in on any brand. Sorry! ☹️
Cody I too love my engine break almost as much as my train horn! Bev and I think we would enjoy a trip out that way! We don't have OK on our map yet nor AR either.
LoL, Nicole would have twizzlers her bug out bag. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who has to tell their wife to lean back so I can see out my passenger side window. LoL. I like the idea of that Refuge House AB&B. Nicole would have a run away with that wasp. She got stung in the butt crack on one of our trips to Kerville TX. She ran in the camper yanking her pants off. I have never laughed so hard!!! Y'all stay Safe.
Love Open Roads. Only ever had trouble using the card once. I emailed them about the issue at that station, and they addressed it. I used Mud Flap once; it was a bit of a pain to use. I've also tried to use the TechnoRV card, when I couldn't find an Open Raods station nearby, and I've never been able to use it since there's always been an Open Roads station wherever there's been a TechnoRV one. We do love us some Upside too!
Nice video...lots to see and do in middle of nowhere who knew?! I need to get that water filtration system. Since you been on road have you ever sanitized your tank and water lines with bleach/ water mixture? I have never but I probably should. Safe travels and enjoy the holiday.
We have sanitized a few times, but I wouldn’t say that we’re really consistent with it. I THINK the book says twice a year, but I wonder if that’s for part-time use. If we haven’t used our fresh water tank for a while, or have water in there for a long period of time, I might do it to freshen up the tanks. I do it pretty randomly.
@ I really need to sanitize our system. Thanks for Mudflap mention so far I have found Casey's and Maverick takes the code at the pump, there may be others but at home these are two where I regularly fill up. We really enjoy your channel, thanks for sharing your travels and experiences.
Wichita Mtns National Wildlife Refuge is one of my day trip Bison fix spots. That and visiting the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur OK’s Bison herd. Tallgrass Prarie in Northern OK also has a big Bison Herd. Chickasaw National Recreation area is a good campsite destination too. Interesting place. Try it out sometime. I like bulk DEF from truck stops due to the freshness. Jug DEF is often old. Just my little idiosyncrasy, but we all have some.
Beautiful country, very nice video! Cody, that’s why they make vacuum cleaners. Do you use the water softener to cut the water off when you leave? You mentioned the engine brake, doesn’t the transmission down shift? Happy Thanksgiving to you both!
I put a heavier shutoff valve on the softener, so that I can shut it off when we leave. 😊 I used small shutoffs for years but I recently added that larger one. The engine brake helps slow it down pretty quickly, without touching the brakes. And it sounds good! 😁

I’m excited to be able to use the diesel fuel aisle.
Congrats on the great grandbaby!! 😊
Ty
Ang you're a hoot but what is wrong with you? You bring a toy tornado to the tornado shelter to cheer up the scared kids?! Bahahahahaa Love this chick. lol
😂😂
😂😂
The sign on the tree that said "Kissing Tree" didn't mean to kiss your wife, it meant to kiss the tree. LOL. Keep up the good work.
Ahhh you think the tree was jealous?
We ate at Meers and couldn’t believe the size of their hamburger. They also have great homemade ice cream.
Right?! She warned us that we would regret it if we didn’t get dessert but we refrained. 😁

Oklahoma has some pretty neat places, but maybe the timing…😁
The urea in def is often from ammonia from coal. Urine has ammonia and urea, salts and other things in it.
Ah ha!!
Ang, you look so good in your jeans. Cody, not so much. 🤣
I sure am glad I happened upon your channel! I love your videos and the intriguing places you take us to!
That’s so nice, thank you! Glad you stopped in! ☺️
I agree. Great job guys. Glad we're not the only goofy acting couple out there. 😂
Alright Ang, here you go, I had no idea what was in DEF. Even as a school bus driver. Nice thing was I never had to deal with it. Only had to fuel up, the mechanics took care of everything else.

Great video! 👍🇺🇸
Gotta love the "Drunk Yellow Jacket" 🐝
🤣Drunk little guy!
Also, on the dep you can use it for fertilizer in your yard . You have a great u-tube channel. I love watching your channel.
Really?! I’ve never heard that. 🤔
Thanks for watching! 😊
I live in Oklahoma and absolutely love my state. I have been in Texas working for the past 4 months. Going home soon! Thanks for sharing a piece of my home state!!!! Meers is sooo good!
Oh how nice! It has a lot of gems for sure!
Love using open roads. The truck stops make it easy with the trailer and they always have the best squeegees for cleaning the windows.
Thanks!! 😊
Love my compression brake on the 3500. We just traveled across the country, and we just got our open roads card. Game changer. Great video.
Oh nice! 😃

I’m not sure that I need to be encouraged..but I like the way you think! 💁♀️😂
Have a nice visit! 💕 We are looking forward to our family time too! 😊
Hey guys 👋 😃,
Ang great bag packing. I do enjoy how your mind works. I look forward to seeing what you guys will come out with next. Thanks for the enjoyment 😉.
Ha! Thanks for watching! 😊
Ya, high pressure pumps. 20 gallons(snap) just like that. You can also pump a lot (snap) on the ground. Ask me how I know....lol 😢
Oh no!!
I’m so glad I don’t have to stay in RV parks or use DEF as my motorhome is pre-DEF
Nice
I guess you gave that bee a new way to buzz. 😊
🤣🤣I see what you did there… 😏
👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Cody was he stingy with his beer. 😂
Nice video
Thanks so much!
We buy def from Walmart too. It’s easy and cheaper. But now that we know it’s hog pee I think we are being waaay overcharged 😮 Thanks Angela 😆
🤣🤣I think it is all imported. I THINK. So maybe that’s part of it. 😁
Thanks for making me feel better! ☺️

I hate it when daylight savings time begins in March. I much prefer standard time.
Ugh right??!! It feels like midnight at 6PM! 😂
We just love the cool, interesting places that RVing allows us to just happen across! Thanks for sharing! Safe travels!
Yes! Safe travels to you as well! 😊
Angie, that's for looking out for the diabetes in this world with the candy canes 😊😊😊
😂😂
Cody I too love my engine break almost as much as my train horn! Bev and I think we would enjoy a trip out that way! We don't have OK on our map yet nor AR either.
Yes! We need to compile an Oklahoma video, because some of our favorite places, we visited years ago. It has some gems, for sure!
I know I've stayed in Lawton, or at least drove around the area. So many places over the years, life is good. I love places like this.
This was a great little area! We told our families that they needed to go visit. 😊
Thanks for sharing . I’m retired military and can stay on military campgrounds. I put on must see list
Awesome! 😊
I was always told that the main ingredient for def was cow pee not hog pee 🤷🏻♂️ I’ve was a logistic manager from 2008-2020 and I drove OTR as well
Ahh interesting! I guess we could’ve looked it up first! 🤣🤣
It looks like it’s partially synthetic.
Nice vid enjoyed it. How about a DEF milage use trip 2 mileage counter and do a DEF MPG.
Thanks.
Great idea!
Wait...DEF is WHAT!!?? 😲
🤣🙋♀️Yay! Thanks for making me feel better! 😁
DEF is synthetic urea and deionized water. Not pig pee😆. Love your videos and travels. Lighten up Cody on the eating in the truck 😁!!!
Ahhhhhhhhhhh
Love your guys videos too
Thanks so much! 😃

Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁
Happy Thanksgiving to you!!
i have been using my open roads card for about 4 years not for diesel and def an you do get a discount for def on your open roads card also
That’s a good point!

Great info, thanks!
I had no idea DEF is hog pee and we’ve had our Dually diesel since 2018. 🤦♀️
Wellllll I’m learning! 🤣 It is synthetic. I should’ve looked it up first!
Love this week's video. You two are awesome. Have you ever been to Oatman Arizona? We winter here and visit all the time. Right up your alley.
That’s so nice! I haven’t heard of it, but I’ll mark it down, thanks!
