I think you should buy a can of contact cleaner if you purchase a second hand TS-700 as every repair I have ever carried out on this radio has involved bad contacts as part of the issue.
Nice repair. My first contest experience was with a TS-700s at the radio amateur club early 90s (I was a young member ). Now I have found one myself. It has some issues so it need some repairs. Can't wait to put it on the air again. I have also a TS-700 converted to 4M band (G4IZH has made a nice description how to do this). And I own a TS-770 VHF/UHF dual band .
Nice work Pete. Amazing what a little cleaning can do!. Sometimes the older equipment is better because you can actually get in and repair it
