What an AMAZING experience at the Stadio Olimpico as I got to see Lazio take on Inter Milan in Serie A in a game they won 3-1! The atmosphere from the Lazio ultras was incredible and one I won’t forget in a hurry.

Lazio fan here. To answer your question, Gazza is someone we Lazio fans are very fond of. He was a big signing and brought attention to Lazio the years before our golden era. He was an energetic and passionate player but many of us believe he could have done more with less injuries and a more favourable coach. Loved the video, forza Laziali 🔵⚪

9:39 Lazio and Inter are brothers and that flag is a tribute to Fabrizio Piscitelli also known as Diabolik who was the leader of Lazio's infamous Irriducibili Ultras group who revolutionised Italian Ultras culture and he sadly got shot in the head in 2019 whilest sitting on a bench in a park, shortly after Irriducibili dissolved amd started again under the name Lazio Ultras, Inter still has an ultras group called Irriducibili 🐍⚫️🔵⚪️🦅

The Diablo flag is in honour of a former leader of Lazio's Irriducibili, whose nickname was Diabolik. He was murdered a few years ago. Inter and Lazio ultras have had a strong friendship for over 30 years so they both use the same flag to show their respect for Diabolik.

Giving me goosebumps. Lifelong lazio fan here. Had a season ticket for 5 years when I lived in Rome..Gazza is an icon to us not just a former player.
Gascoigne is part of Lazio history! I'm only 25 and I could not admire Gazza playing, but my father often talk to me about him playing with us and his funny stories inside and outside the pitch. Famous is its goal in the last minute in the Derby, where to celebrate he run to Curva Nord crying. For sure when any Lazio fan think about the '90s, Gascoigne is one of the player that come to its mind, wether he is young or old. Also, in (probably) 2012 came to Rome to watch Lazio-Tottenham of Europa League and the welcome for him was amazing.
Btw i hope you enjoyed the atmosphere in Stadio Olimpico, and that you liked us as supporters. Often we are pictured as fascist/racist and we really suffer about that. Imagine going abroad, or even in northern Italy, and when you tell people that you support Lazio they have to joke about you being fascist. In the '80/'90s many Lazio supporters were like that, but now i can tell you that it is completely false. There is still a very small portion that, for me, just "pretend" to have that ideals, but 99% of us are normal supporters like any of other teams, that condemn such behaviors.
I'm fan of Inter and of course I like very much Lazio. Have tshirt of Lazio as well. Friendship between Lazio and Inter is very big and it will always stand like this, no matter results. FORZA INTER ! VOLA LAZIO VOLA !

Big mistake to leave so shortly after the match. Watching the celebration and listening to the fans is a must when you go to Stadio Olimpico and watch Lazio.

The atmosphere was fantastic as we would expect in Italia. Looked like a much pleasure experience this time around. Excellent result from Lazio.
Gascoigne for us is the player that put us back on the map of the international football. He was the first star bought by Lazio that makes things start to turn in a better way. I grow up with my parents' story about him and when he went back at the Olimpico in 2012 was welcomed like a hero, with chants and a standing ovation. He's one of the greatest player of our history, without all the injuries he could has done so much better

I'm a Laziofan really enjoyed this video, remember the days i've been supporting Lazio at the Rome derby. Lazio won and it was the best night i had. I also been at a derby that Lazio lost but still had alot of fun in Rome with other Lazio fans after the game as we just drank our lose away haha, the Lazio days in Rome i will never forget. I really need to go back to see my team play live again.

@@hamgil Also in 2002. I was at the stadium that day. The whole stadium cheered Inter, and at the end of the match the Inter and Lazio fans cheered and applauded each other. The result of the match does not affect the friendship between the two supporters.

Inter and Lazio ultras (and fans) are very very big friends. On the contrary, lnter and As Roma ultras have always hated each other and there are often fights between the supporters of the two teams (in the past there have also been several serious stabbings, now fortunately there are more checks).

Loved this, Ellis! I can see several Lazio fans have already commented below, but I would recommend Daniel Storey's book Gazza in Italy. He talks about exactly the thing you ask in relation to Gazza and Lazio fans. It's a short book but well worth a read.

To answer your question… I’ve been around the Curva Nord for years now and the Diablo flag that you were questionin gyourself abkut is for the leader of the ultras group who died a couple years ago and, given that Lazio and Inter ultras are very good friends (for various reasons), Inter fans have their own as a way to express their solidarity towards. Anyways, hopefully you come back in Rome and I’ll get you sorted with some tickets for the Curva Nord this time!

@@MrHeracles8 hi melanie, i'm a Lazio fan from Rome. Unfortunately this season the the curva nord is sold out for league home games due to season ticket holders. What I recommend is if you want to go to a Serie A match you can find the last remaining seats in the distinct north (they are located on the sides of the Curva Nord) or quietly in the Tevere grandstand or distinct south-east. Alternatively you can go to a europa league match where there are no season tickets and you can find tickets in the curva nord quite easily. Hope I was helpful.
I've been to, 2 Lazio games in the curva nord a d that was amazing. Lazio fans do love gasgoyne also yes, but one of many stars in the 90's

Lazio and Roma are working to build their own stadiums each. Unfortunately (or fortunately) building in a city like Rome has always been practically impossible because of the archaeological finds that are found practically every time work is carried out, and above all because of the shape of the city. As I told you, however, both Lazio and Roma are working to get their own stadium in the next few years. ps: sorry for my bad english and Forza Lazio!

I went to a Lazio game few years ago was behind the goal in the curva Nord against Hellas Verona. Stadium wasn’t full but the atmosphere was incredible very intimidating speaking English but was an experience

I was born in 1990, so I couldn't enjoy Gascoigne at Lazio, but every time I asked my father about Gazza he smiled and said that he was one of the greatest players that Lazio have had. My father now fights with an infamous genetic disease that is turning him off more and more every day, but when I tell him about Gascoigne he returns to smile as he always did, so every time you come to see Lazio, wear that shirt with honor.
