You do a very nice job. I kind of wish that it had one less coat of the grey, so as to see the wood grain a tad more. But it truly is a beautiful piece of furniture that you restored.
I don’t like the color gray, so I almost didn’t watch the entire video when I saw in the comments that you went with a gray color. I’m so glad I kept watching because I was shocked at how beautiful it was in the end. Maybe the only piece of gray furniture I’ve ever loved. LOL
You put a lot of hard work into this piece. Glad that you liked the final product. I like the hardware that you chose. But honestly, it was hard to watch you bleach the heck out of this gorgeous walnut veneer. (I think it would’ve been gorgeous with just a hard wax oil.) But since you did choose a gray stain, I agree with another commentary. I feel like it could’ve used less of the stain because you can barely see the woodgrain anymore. But nice job.
Congrats 🙌🏼on the new channel, Jeremy! 😍Soooo pretty!!! I'm about to go to battle with some cherry wood tables and it's high lacquer 90's burgundy finish - then slapping it with some of that same bleach.
When I first saw you stripping the finish off the sideboard, I felt like virtual Spanking you. BUT Even I now Approve. GOOD JOB, Classic Look but with a modern twist.
It's ashame that most of the colour and beauty of the veneer is covered by solid colour. The old world classiic look have given way to a common modern appearance.
I agree I went a little heavier on the gray than I originally intended, but I ended up with uneven lightness of the wood from doors to top to sides and had to even it out. Definitely was a learning experience. Thanks for watching!
I'll be so glad when all this drab gray goes out of fashion... especially when it covers up really beautiful & luxurious mahogany wood. There is so little of it these days. Plus, it's a very expensive wood to just slap on some gray & destroy the wood's integrity - save that for oak or pine. I'm not opposed to gray, but... it. is. overdone. Break out of your comfort zone & move into more vibrant colors, textures & woods. The goal is to enhance a beautiful wood & bring out its best qualities, not hide them. Just like the hair on your head - find the best cut for "your" hair!
I agree with comment that says it needs a slight sheen. Did you try black pulls? I couldn't figure out what was wrong, but I think it is the garish color of the big picture you stuck on top of it--turquoisey/black thing. It needs to go somewhere else. it totally overwhelms the chest.
Never understood the market for fake antiques. You wonder what on earth was in peoples' minds, when they bought this stuff. "Darling .. you know how much I adore antique furniture? Well I think we should go out and buy some .. but let's buy the fake stuff even though the real stuff is the same price or cheaper". I often suspect they were actually only attracted to the fakes .. and didn't actually like antiques at all. Which is weird and hilarious. Anyway, nice job. I'd have kept the warmer bleached look (not a fan of grey or cool tones in timber), and made it look upmarket beachy/scandy, but I like what you did in this case. Anything is an improvement to a fake antique, after all!
Why were you going for such a flat finished look? Furniture should have at least a little light reflection, maybe a satin top coat or a bit of buffed out wax would make it look more alive. Like the new hardware.
The original intent wasn’t to go so dark. But I do think bleaching it removed some of the red undertones of the mahogany allowing for the cool tone of the finish, which is what I wanted.
I think it’s BEAUTIFUL!

Thank you Monica! I agree that I went a little heavy. 👍
It turned out beautifully! Love that color stain 💖
Thanks so much! 😊
Hello. Fabulous job!!🤗🤗
Perfect hardware to match the new transformation. Beautiful knock out piece!
Thank you Sandra!
I just subscribed! I think it turned out lovely. I probably would have gone a few shades lighter, but that's just my taste. Really beautiful!
Thanks so much! 😊
Fake keyhole thing = escutcheon 😊

A lot of work! Great video and great job making it a one of a kind piece
Thanks Sarah!!
Wonderful job!
Glad you like it!
Very nice transformation
Appreciate that!
I love how I was not the only one who was going to over ride the vote outcome on something
Oh for sure!
Thank you for taking us along for the ride on this piece. Enjoyed the ‘stick-to-ativeness you have! B~}
Glad you enjoyed it!

Totally get that. Thanks for watching!
Love it love it. Beautiful colour❤
Thank you! 😊
Great job, all that hard work paid off. I really like the gray tone. :)
Thanks Susan! Glad you like it! 🙂
I like the new hardware and the ideal of extra light wood, but didnt like the new color stain. Looked sort of like barn wood.
Thanks for watching!
Very nice! Great job 👍🏼
Thanks for watching!
The metal gizmo you add to a keyhole is called an escutcheon. These days, the things are also made of resin or thick plastic.
Ah! Thank you!!
Very beautiful!!
Thank you very much!
I like this piece a lot. It really has a great look. Amazing job. Linda Beals.
Thank you so much Linda!
Turned out great! Loled about the Instagram poll. I’m glad your followers have good taste.😉
Haha thank you! 🤣
Great results!
Thank you!
Congrats 🙌🏼on the new channel, Jeremy!

Thank you and good luck!

Uh oh! Glad I’m not in trouble!
Beautiful!

Thank you! 😊
You liked the comment asking for a link to the hardware but didn't give a link. Can you say what it is? Nice job!
Here you go! a.co/d/hvJnlRU
Lindíssima 😍
¡Gracias!
Beautiful job done! Was it just me or the background music was really weird?
lol thank you! I like the music 😂

Interesting point! It actually isn’t living in that spot, but I’ll keep that in mind for future staging! Thanks for watching.

@@jackieraulerson2005 Thank you, Jackie!
Agreed, keyhole escutcheon plates that are not ‘real’ are just weird.
Totally!

Good suggestion! The topcoat is actually a satin sheen, but I think maybe with the stain mixed in, it flattened it out a bit. Thanks for watching!
Noncommital appearance now. I saw one somewhere like a Motel 6
That must be a nice Motel 6!!! 🤣
❤👏👏👏👏👍
🙃
@Jeremywduvall 🤗
Gives me hope for a similar piece i have lurking in the garage. ❤ great outcome
Good luck!
Do you have a link for the hardware?

I don’t get it, why bleach it out then stain it a dark color🤷♀️

Called escutcheons I think.
Sorry NO I don't like it the color looks to grayish now Icky yuk.
😢
Убил и цвет и фактуру (( . Получилась серая бесхарактерная вещь. Никакая .
Спасибо за просмотр!
I’m really sorry, but it was so much better before…
I appreciate your perspective, thanks for watching!
Fake keyhole = escutcheon
@@patriciamay638 thanks Patricia!
