Been waiting to see your update. So sorry about all the destruction. I can't believe the bees are ok. That's a hopeful thing. We got the same amount of water down the road at Yates Creek but we have nothing on the property other than the pole barn and a tractor. I hadn't thought about the fish laying around. yuck. We won't be back for awhile so I guess they'll just be bones by the time we return. Praying for our area to now be spared from any more bad storms. Stay positive! Glad you are both ok.
I'm so sorry yall are going threw this I've given all i can to help out. I'm in California but my heart felt prayers are going out to all. Thank ypu fpr giving us the truth and not politizing so many suffering like I see some doing. Stay safe and God bless you.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for your prayers. Prayers are what we need most of all. We are making progress and every small win is a big win for our family. Blessings to you as well 🙏❤️
So sorry to see the extent of the damage. I can't believe the water got that far into the neighborhood. I am two streets closer to the main county road and we didn't have any water at all. Glad you are both safe!
Good to see you yall are ok. Most of your plants should be fine. Uncover the banana an trim the damage an it will come back. You may want to check out some of the TH-cam weather men. Ryan Hall an some of the others were predicting both the huge storm serge and the stuff in the mountains, for some time. What hit North Carolina was what was predicted to hit the mountains around Chattanooga so I was prepping all week. We got lucky an others didn't. But it seems like local media downplayed what was coming. This storm was shockingly big when it formed off South America an deserved more respect than it was given by the media.
@@averagecampers yea... Ryan Hall was talking about how hot the Gulf was, he expected it to ramp up very quickly. This new one they are already talking about 18 feet of serge in Tampa Bay.
I started following Ryan Hall after Idalia. He can get pretty technical, most of which is over my head, but his crew is scattered around the affected areas so it helps to see how things are going.
Wow, I'm just startled to see the amount of damage, especially from flooding. I had major damage at my place a few blocks away but it was all wind, no flooding. I don't believe Robert down at the end of your street had any flooding issues either. This puzzles me how it happened to you in this way. I'm SO sorry. If there's anything I can do please let me know.
Thank you so much and for thinking of us. Robert is at a higher elevation than us but we thought 12ft above sea level would be more than enough. We were wrong with this storm. The highest recorded in this area was 9ft….we had 17ft with this storm. In the end, we will move forward and get back to normal as soon as possible.
So sad. Add hashtags to your description and title to get more attention!! . The average person watching the news has to see what's happening with these storms. Hope you all can rebuild 🙏
So sorry for all affected. Unfortunately they’re saying the sludge and water was contaminated buy everything washed away. Sewage and chemicals were in that water. Devastating. 😢
We talked about it for a short time but with so many others needing so much more help than us we felt asking people to donate to recovery efforts just felt better in our hearts. ❤️❤️
As someone who lives in a flood zone in Texas, I have a feeling you are confusing, sea level with base flood elevation. Which makes your testimony even more crazy as far as the flooding. Our flood plain for instance is almost 600 feet above sea level
All we know is the Topo map shows us at 12ft above sea level and the flood markings were 3 to 5ft above that. If sea level is 0 than we had flood water up to 17ft. Crazy to think that much water can poor into an area because of a storm.
Funny you mention that. The one vehicle we took was our Jeep that we pulled behind the motorhome when we evacuated. Not sure if we will ever see the others run again 😞

Much respect! Celebrate everything daily! Proud of you both 🆒️😎❤️
Thank for your very kind words 🙏❤️

Thank you so much 🙏 Glad to hear you all are dry and safe. One step forward each day and we will restore our property.
Thanks for the update on your situation. I hope we all can adapt to this new reality, if that is what it turns out to be.
We have definitely discussed minimizing further to reduce our risk for loss. Thank you so much for watching 🙏
So very sorry to see the extent of the damage. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Thank you so much for thinking of us and for your prayers 🙏❤️
Take care, you're all in my thoughts and prayers from Yorkshire, uk. I'm worried about Milton coming in next too so be safe, be warm.
Same, also hope EUR has prepared for Ex-Kirk.
@FirstDagger This next storm is madness.
Thank you so much for your prayers. We all need as many as you can send 🙏
You two look so tired. I hope some of the good things are heading your way and SOON. My thoughts are with you. Thanks for the update.
Thank you so much for thinking of us 🙏🙏
I am so happy that both of you are ok and tha you got out of harm's way I do hope that some day i can go visit you stay safe and God bless. 😀
Thank you so much 🙏 We still owe you a nice campfire evening and look forward to making that possible again.
Glad y'all are safe and ok. So sorry y'all have so much damage. Continued prayers 🙏

We were watching the Weather Channel. I think they were surprised how quickly this storm ramped up.

Several have suggested Ryan. We will be following as well. Thanks 🙏
Praying for everyone. Im very worried about this next one.
Watching it closely 🙏
Just amazing the power of all that water.
We can not image what would have happened if we decided to ride out the storm ⛈️
@@averagecampers 😱
@JustMeValerie6 Traffic on 19 has swelled with people evacuating south of us. Yikes 😱
@@averagecampers carlos asked if you were leaving for this one too. I didn’t think so, but yeah, i bet 19 is going to be busy for quite a while. 😢
@craftinghomestead We are staying as of today. If the storm moves north we may decide differently.
Good Grief! I’m so heartbroken for you guys.
Thank you so much 🙏

We had heard that as well. When we can get our well repaired, we plan to have the water tested for toxins. Very difficult times.
Have you or would you consider a gofundme page? I’m sure some of your subscribers and others would be thrilled to help you. ❤

@@averagecampersi can respect that, but sometimes folks would prefer to help those they know rather than a faceless stranger. ❤
You make a very good point 🙏
Hope, you stay safe during Milton.
Look out team, here comes another one.🐢
We are still outside the cone but watching closely. We do not plan on leaving yet but preparing just in case the storm moves more north.
I'm sorry that this happened you all. Now another storm is coming? So horrible! I hope this one turns out alot less than expected.
Thank you so much. We are watching the storm closely to see if another evacuation is necessary 🙏🙏

Thank you 🙏

I wouldn’t dare eat that garden. Contaminated with sewage and chemicals from everything. 😢
Very good point. It will take time to test the soil and water for toxins.

Thank you so much Patty 🙏🙏❤️❤️
hurricane militon is coming
We are watching closely and praying for those currently in its path 🙏🙏🙏
Listen guys Maui was the same.
These storms are unreal and horrible.
those cars are lost causes, yall need a jeep

Average Campers Homestead: we lost $20k in vehicles overnight
Also Average Campers Homestead: consider donating money to the folks up north ❤
