Your explanation of OCD is so healing for me, I don't have like physical obvious compulsions, but I do the researching and researching and trying to find the answer to my intrusive thoughts a lot of the time and I often think that because of that I don't have OCD.

@inspiritedminds I think one of the things you may need to explore with anyone who speaks about OCD in the future is the relationship with autism spectrum disorder or traits. (there may also be a relationship between asd and eating disorders). I think, it is something looked at in some of the research literature.
Anyone here who suffers with ocd would do well to explore the possibility of traits of ASD and family members who have similar symptoms. Autism spectrum Manifesting differently across genders.
There's a lot I would also like to have asked Zainab if she has explored that too, neurodivergence in herself.
May God bless you for doing a series of podcasts on this matter, it is beyond needed. Also the adhd one is better.
Many thoughts, would love to email some questions.

Mujhe OCD 2012 se hai.. mujhe, kuch log hain jinko dekhne se bechaini shuru ho jaati, tez ghabrahat, aur mann me sawal aata kyun dekh liya, aur phir us din kya date h, time, month ka last h ya start, kuch special days like holidays k din ho jaye toh aur zyada ghbrahat hoti aur phir mann me sawal, k last time dekha toh .. phir compulsion krte kisi aise aadmi ko dekh kr jo neutral h..

Does anyone have the same OCD Theme as Me? I have constant doubts when I read Islamic Knowledge knowing Full well its The Truth and I should believe it, how do I overcome this? i cant even read quran sometimes because of This 😢😢😢 please does anyone have or had the same issue? I am Afraid It will Impact my certainty in My Belief 😢 and how do i know if it is actually OCD and not myself questioning it

I don’t like reading islamic related stuff as i know my mind will play devils advocate on every topic. I will be screaming shut up to myself while reading so i dont bother. I cant read quran as my mind always tells me im reading it wrong so if somebody heard me read they would think i have a stammer as i keep going back and repeating. Plus takes me an hour to do ghusl which i do instead of wudu.
While typing this my mind is telling me to delete this comment as others may read it and end up with same compulsions as me. Curse of overthinking.

I experienced this as well. How you know is your reaction to it. Since you are certain and believe it to be the truth, those doubts (waswas) are causing distress.

You can get therapy even from a non muslim. Religious ocd is known by many therapists as people from other religions suffer from it too
