You and I have a very similar preference trajectory, lol! ColourPop, to BH, to indies! I think it's because we both were newbies when we started watching Angelica Nyqvist 😂
I’m considering getting rid of the Opulence palette too and have seen other creators get rid of it. For me, I don’t like all the pale and warm neutrals mixed with dark blues and purples. I think it could be better balanced with some cooler tone neutrals and some different undertones of blue and purple. I think it may survive this round of decluttering, but it may not survive my end of the year declutter that I do in January. I actually don’t like the design on the packaging. To me it’s gaudy and tacky because of images of the money and gold chain.
Did you perchance see my video ages ago about the Opulence packaging design? I fumbled over some points on the historical timeline (followed by a correction video!), but on the whole I was expressing how much I too dislike the design. I think you’re right about cool toned neutrals. Maybe warm/gold felt more luxurious, but cool would match better for the looks themselves.
Colourpop was great at the time, they had good quality colorful palettes at a decent price, but they just dint hold up to today's popular brands. I am often tempted by colourpop's palettes, but then i look at them and theyre always missing something, usually quality shimmers.
I totally agree. ColourPop is not at all a bad formula, and still a good recommendation for beginners and price. But it doesn’t compare very favorably anymore and they still launch too much. I’ve most recently been tempted by the Rock On palette but talked myself out of it.

That makes a lot of sense! LOL
