Let them interchange and tilt the formation left to attack with Telles and defend with Spider-Wan. Telles creates width so Rashford and Martial who interchange LW and can cut inside to create a Yorke and Cole combo, or the ST can drift into the channel and look to cut it back. With two central midfielders with high workrates and AWB right, you could play Matic holding. Greenwood RM/RW cutting inside you could essentially play a fluid front five. Ole's should be trying to outscore teams, especially lesser sides vs not trying to concede.

Matic and van de beek should be in the pivot for me, they can both play line breaking passes and matic is a specialist dm and I believe it could be a great balance between defence and attack.

He did expend a lot of work in defence but you also need to be realistic and notice that he was largely inefective in defense. He was way to easy to bypas and outmuscle. That won't be that big of a problem if we have a solid CDM but we don't so that's a problem. I find it baffling how people can cry how McTominay is easily bipassed in midfield but praise Donny's defensive work. I like Donny, but Scotty is a lot better at defending and bullying midfielders so keep it real. We get really exposed in midfield with Bruno and Donny. Ole needs to find a remedy for that because it does eem that going forward we do indeed need to play with both Bruno and Donny in the team.
I think the best way to incorporate both Donny and Bruno would be playing Bruno as RW where Donny moves to SS and Bruno controls the middle. Plus I feel that having an excellent defensive RB like AWB is wasted if you can't lower defensive duties for the RW

I think the key word here is "Simple passes" and something we have misses with our flow and Pogba. I feel Donny soon need to start games, maybe against Southampton, because he will be quicker to close the games with the factor between defence and attack 🙂

He doesn't have to compete with bruno for the number# 10 position......he is a versatile midfielder
Donny is a true box to box CM I think, and with Bruno at the CAM role all we need now is a quality DM and our first choice midfield could be set and don't forget our second string midfield of Matic / Mctominay, Fred and Mata isn't too bad either.

Actually I think man utd can play any formation they want. all that matters is utilizing the players according to their strengths. E.g wan bisska should be an inverted fullback. Whoever plays on the right should hold the width no matter what.

Why not 433? Donny, Pogba with Matic/McT/Fred and then Rashy/Bruno/Martial can be a free flowing front 3 with plenty of support. Then Fred can rotate and doesn’t have to be a double pivot or solo DM. Lingard can rotate as a energy midfielder to get the best of him till he’s gone and it still allows FWD/wing roles for Dan and Mason
