- The NEW and in my opinion HIGHLY improved chassis design HSP 1/10 Wolverine monster truck!
It looks tough, it looks fast, but will it handle my all or nothing driving style😆
Absolutely LOVE the new wheels on this rig, hope they can handle the brushless conversion!
This is the brushed version but as you will see I'll need a brushless system sooner than expected, well kinda🤭
On location unboxing/review and bash test at a new little BMX track, awesome little bash spot!

Yep. That’s why I gave you the remote back. I felt bad for landing g it on the roof. But def needs that brushless upgrade. Will go so much better and better flips too. 👍🏼🚗
Nah your all good man, get better footage when others are driving and im just filming, I'm going to be hard on it anyway as you know🤣
Yeah I got a little brushless system in it already, can't wait to test it out🤪
Cheers man, awesome day as always👊
Good video. Nice bash session with the new truck. Can't wait to see the video with the brushless setup.
Thanks Tim🙂
It is a awesome truck so far and yes definitely better with a little brushless setup👌
Never got to speed test it stock though😅
Great rip guys! Can't wait to see the brushless system in it‼️👍👍🦾🦾
Thanks Dome😁👍
Yes a brushless setup should be awesome, it's pretty light weight so shouldn't need a huge setup👌
Nice, can't wait for the brushless system. It will be fun bashing with maverick👍
Yes I think it's going to be much more fun with a little 3s brushless system😁
Should be a good comparison with the Maverick absolutely.
Thanks for checking it out mate👍
The look of it is really cool, love the body 🤩🤩 Reminds me of a red cat dukono 🤔
Definitely man, I think the style is awesome, loving the chassis and wheels aswell🤘
Yes another person said it looks like a mini Kaiju, I never had any Redcats so I can't really compare.
Thanks for watching man 👊
Nice look. Should definitely handle brushless motor and esc combo 4s lipo compatible as all of mine have , all metal diff gears , however watch out for the eclips in the diffs , clean thourally and either put some locktight on the eclips or a dab of solder.
Nice work bud
They do look nice👌
Yes my brushless motor was just delivered so can get started on the build vid soon.
Yeah the eclips even on the old HSPs had a tendency to come off or sometimes snap.
Lots of modding before it's 4s capable😅
Thanks mate👍
Awesome vid, could you please do a video on the process of changing to a brushless motor?
Hey Mo, just caught me before bed😅
Yes I can do that, it's quite simple on these actually.
I have installed and tested a little brushless system but I ordered a better motor and some other parts for it so when that all arrives I will do a how to swap motor vid but it will most likely be a mods vid also, important mods though👌
Thanks Mo🙂
I have this truck. It seems they are too high geared right away. I lowered my gearing, a 21 turn brushed motor, and a Traxxas XL-5 spd control. Overall I like the truck for what it is, I use mine for snow runs, I have brushless trucks so I just left this one brushed. The steering could be a little better and turn a bit sharper though overall not a bad truck.
Yes I think some people underestimate what the correct brushed set-up can actually do, even just changing the motor to a higher turn as you did it will be capable of running 3s no issues.
You just when one step further and lowered the pinion size I'm assuming👌
However I have swapped mine to brushless as that was my plan when buying this car.
Video is in the HSP playlist if you want to see how stupidity crazy I went with it🤦
But you'll get more steering if you use a longer servo horn and change the steering tie bar position👌
Nice job cooking it mate lol. I like the look of it looking forward to seeing the conversion to brushless 😁😁😁
What’s your thoughts on cars with double the shocks do you think it makes a huge difference?
3s, yeah why not, ahhhh not so smart😵couldn't help it🤣
No it's a very cool truck, love the chassis and wheels, brushless will be fun.
I don't mind the dual shocks but I'm not sure how necessary it is on most cars, if the springs are stiff and the oil is thick enough 4 shocks should act the same as 8 shocks.
The springs may be super soft on this HSP🤷
@@rccrazy Cool mate looking forward to more legend! 👍👍👍👍
Good to see an another aussie having a crack. 🤘
Thanks mate🤘
I can't work and have been obsessed with RCs for years so I thought I should start a channel and hopefully my content can help some people out or at the least a bit of entertainment😁
Thanks again👍
Exceed has one similar I thought about. Really just want the body! If you find a replacment body for this lmk. I cant find them.
These shells are easy to find here in Australia, not sure where you live but I can get you a Ebay Australia link if you want.
Can not find any unpainted, all are painted.

I have the HNR Mars Pro brushless. Looks just like this! Maybe a few subtle differences. It’s in pieces at the moment as I blew out the rear diffs😂! Came with the HW Max 8 . Silly fast truck but even though it was 3s capable, the rear end didn’t like it! Gotta get it back together . Been sitting in a box for too long! Take care brother. Awesome video!
Ah ok, never heard of HNR but not surprised they are similar as many companies can't seem to come up with their own designs anymore😅
If yours has the same diffs then shimming is a must, lots of slop at the crown and pinion gears straight out of the box on mine, just a matter of time before it starts chewing itself up.
Thanks mate👍
@@rccrazy that’s exactly what happened to mine no teeth left on the crown and pinion. You reckon I should shim it with a small washer to start?
If you have super thin and correct size washers then yes definitely!
5x7mm is what you need to fit in the diff housing, I think 5x8mm will work but to be sure they fit in the housing I got 7mm outer dimension.
I'm using 0.2mm thick, may need upto 0.6mm on the crown gear side so I ordered 20🤣
@@rccrazy cool man , thanks for the tips!👍🏻
All good bud😁
The tub chassis looks similar to the 1/8 scale maverick quantum flux R race truck, just not as deep. Nice
Yeah kind of, it's like a mix between a Maverick and a Traxxas😅
I like mine.. Needs bearings at the hubs and a bit of shock tuning but its a good truck for sure
The chassis is pretty much a baby Kaiju
Definitely mate, so far I really like it👌
A very promising platform for a good possibly 4s build, need a bit of diff work and shimming first though😅
Ah ok a scaled down Kaiju, that's cool, never really looked at the Kaiju.
@@rccrazy I think 3s is plenty for this chassis imo
All depends on the motor kvs really, I do like low kv motors so 4s is sometimes necessary to be equivalent to a 3s setup.
I know what you mean though, a setup that won't kill it just from throttling😅👍
@@rccrazy No slipper so better to have a bit less torque and more RPM imo
Why did you not buy the brushless version to begin with?
Because this was $100 cheaper, I like to modify my RCs and I always have brushless combos laying around.
I expected the brushed motor to cook.
@@rccrazy Nice 😀
