    I have it, it works! The only bummer is that it's 75 Watt but it's replacing my 90W Denon so it's not that much less powerful. But more than worth it for all the features that it offers. I have it hooked up to a PS5 and Xbox and all features work!!!! It's been a long time waiting for a receiver like this and at $440 it's a great price.

      Don't worry about what the wattage rating is. Most receiver manufacturers inflate the power output. The Denon also is backed up by high current, like Marantz receivers ( sister company).

    Got this last week. I am loving it. I didn’t want to drop $700 on the Best Buy model because my movie is small enough where I don’t need more power.

    • @JacobDarkOfficial
      @JacobDarkOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea after some time with it I've pretty much adjusted to the sound and unless some significant jump in quality comes out for under $800 (which I doubt, Best Buy model is only an additional 5w per channel) I won't be upgrading any time soon

      I got this late September and swapped out my older Yamaha 6750 for it. My thoughts after a few weeks hooked up to my Bowers and Wilkins DM602 S3s are that the drop in power is noticed in that I have to turn it up higher to get the same amount of volume as before but I’m not pushing the system. The room calibration is FAR better than before however and the 4K pass through actually works well. There is one issue when it comes to swapping HDMI sources; when I go from two active HDMI connections (both Apple TV and Directv) it likes to cycle back to the previous source. I’m sure I need to do something to fix it, but that’s more user error on my part than a Denon issue. Overall I’m happy with the system: I can use the 120hz at 1080p after many years of not being able to (Sony x850c), have modern inputs for my ps5 and will have a compatible system when I upgrade my tv.

    I’m wondering if this will support Dolby vision AND VRR while both are activated? I just bought and returned a Denon AVR-S960H because it was one or the other, it couldn’t support both on at the same time. And the Denon I just bought and returned was around $800, so I’m just curious if this now $500-$600 in the video will do it? Would be a big $$ saver if it did.

    Hi everyone, just scored an Xbox series X and i'm looking to upgrade without breaking the bank. So I have a few questions.
    I see the Denon S650/750 receivers are marked way down, I assume because they are 4k 60hz and are being replaced by the S760 4k 120hz model.
    I have a couple year old, middle of the road LG 4k tv that I'm not sure is 120hz either. Let's assume it isn't because I highly doubt it. Also my current AVR doesn't even support 4k pass through.
    So here's my dilemma. If I buy the Denon 650/750, will it work with my Xbox Series X and pass through it's 4k to my tv (albeit at 60hz)? I realize it wouldn't be 120hz, but would I at least be able to step up to piping 4k through to my tv? Or does the 60hz vs 120hz difference mean I'd just have a dead black screen?
    Appreciate any help and some possible levels of expense vs benefit vs what would totally not work at all.

    • @JacobDarkOfficial

      2. Buy the S760 - get 4k limited to 60hz but could upgrade TV for 120hz
      3. Buy the S760 and replace TV to match - get full 4k @ 120hz

    • @jasonkeenan4154
      @jasonkeenan4154 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brettdavis9575 remember you can always bypass the pass through feature. Assuming your TV has an eArc hdmi port, that is. So if you went with the 750 but got a TV capable of 120hz, you can just run the hdmi 2.1 from the series x to the TV, then another 2.1 from the earc slot into the receivers earc in for audio. That's the current workaround anyways. I'm kind of in the same boat, I have the series x and a 120hz tv, but the 760h is like $600 everywhere right now, I think I'm going to grab the 750/650 myself.

      If your tv and receiver both support eArc you can however eArc for me was troublesome and led to a lot of delay problems with the audio, going through the HDMI 2.1 ports is your best bet

      @@JacobDarkOfficial I’m not sure if it does or not but I thought it has hdmi pass through. I just want the 4K 120hz picture to get to the LG C1 from my Xbox series X and also get lossless audio from the Xbox to the receiver. Or the only other alternative I know is to just go from the Xbox straight to the tv and then possibly send the audio to the receiver, however, I’m afraid the audio will be processed down and not be “lossless”. My wife is gonna be pissed if I have to upgrade the receiver now 🤪

      Yea Arc/eArc is the only other way I believe, on the bright side the receiver is only $440!

    This receiver keeps shutting my Samsung q90 off as Its in game mode as I launch a game on my series x.i also cant use arc because it’s on input 3 and the game port is on input 4 am I doing something wrong?i also have 2.1 cables.

      I also have a q90t, not having any issues however I don't use eArc and have my consoles going into the receiver instead

      @@JacobDarkOfficial yeah I have them both going through the receiver as well but idk why it’s doing that.was just thinking of plugging Xbox directly in 4 and then input 3 (arc) for the receiver.funny because it doesn’t behave like this with my ps5 at all. Only the series x.it doesn’t let me see the info on the screen.Instead it goes blank for a while and then it shows then info.And on the ps5 it shows it onscreen.idk but it’s driving me crazy.

      ARC is a universal setting, you need to connect the Arc output on the TV to the AV ARC main output, and set up the TV and the AV to use Arc. That way any input into the TV or internal channel will get fed to the AV audio.

    Apparently that “3D audio” on the x-1700h has nothing to do with the ps5’s ‘3D audio’. It’s a blu tooth thing.

      Will have to look into that, if so there's really no reason to upgrade as I'm now getting used the the sound

      @carnage4907 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JacobDarkOfficial yea from what I’m reading, the ps5’s 3D audio only works with headphones, and now they have a version for TV’s(virtual surround), but not for receivers. I have the 760h, from costco. I’ll probably upgrade to the 1700h because I have $550 in Best Buy gift cards. So if they stock that receiver within the 90 day costco return policy, I’ll make the switch.
      I really like the sound of the 760H, but I notice sometimes when switching between my inputs, or starting games, the picture stops passing through the receiver, and I have to shut everything off, and turn it back on again. Are you, or is anyone else experiencing this?

      @@JacobDarkOfficial I know, It still baffles me, I can't get it, its heave, runs hot, then fans turn on, idk, I gave up on my Home Theatre system when I found out buying one of those set-up 5.1 soundbars with/without blue-ray was 30 dollars cheaper than the cheapest Receiver. Now ofc It took me time to learn that what I was looking for was a 2.1 with the chance of temporarily do some DSP effects, preferably by the AI of Sony to sort of accommodate well sounds in a stage as it were, for movies.

    Lol I’ve got a vsx1123 pioneer which I guess I’m selling it’s got 165watts per channel 7.1 but it may do 4k but not 2.1 the crazy thing is most ppls ts don’t have 2.1 98% of TVs are still 2.0 hdmi..as there’s zero 8k shows once in a blue moon like the. Olympics was 8k..anyway 75w sucks..I’m using a good optical cable isn’t now, and connecting hdmi direct from my Xbox to my projector..so anyone wants a great pioneer, let me know..
