      We didn't mention the price in the video because it can fluctuate over time, and even different Costco stores might carry them for different prices, but we paid $439.99 for our unit. Thanks for watching! :)

      @@TwoGuyzTech Sure, but all you have to do is honestly express what the price you paid at the time of the video production and people will understand that prices fluctuate over time. You shouldn't be so concerned about the validity of your review, as you must know by now in life, people want to know how much the unit costs in real time so they can decide whether or not to invest in newer technology. It's sort of ridiculous that I had to search the web for the price when you guys knew what you paid about a week ago but purposely withheld the information from your viewers.

      @@MichaelSmith-xs4wp Yeah, we get it - and we've actually mentioned the price of products in most of our other videos, but one thing that we don't expect you to understand not having a TH-cam channel is how much blowback you'll get when prices do change. Now that I bought a 4K 120hz receiver I've run the connections all to receiver and put the one HDMI 2.1 connection to the TV. I've enabled 8K enhanced and Denon says my TV doesn't support 4K 120hz or 8K 60hz. PC only gets a 4K 60hz signal now. I'm lost. Hi thanks for watching! We chose not to review/mention that system as it seems to be made with very cheap/inferior materials and is not a good value. Of course, we haven't heard it, but considering the whole system together with the subwoofer only weighs 64 pounds, we'd suggest looking elsewhere. With that said, this receiver would run the 5.1.4 pack you mentioned just fine.

    @TwoGuyzTech - You have tried and tested both TSR-700 and AVR-S760H. My old receiver is giving some trouble and want one of these two. I need clean/crisp sound. My old receiver was 50w per channel and I barely used half the power. I have 3.1 setup. No surround speakers. Occassionaly I might want to listen to audio only stuff in pure stereo setup from the system. I have Yamaha Tower speakers. Not interested in bells and whistles of modern tech. I have a newer XBox that I use for bluray/4k movies sometimes. A lot of info. Sorry. Which one would work better for me?
    Or in a simple question. Excluding tech features, just for clean sound which one you liked better?

    • @TwoGuyzTech
      @TwoGuyzTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching! And no worries. If we want to answer the simple question, we really did like the way that the Denon AVR-S760H sounded over the TSR-700, and it had everything working right out of the gate. We also haven't tested the newer revisions of the TSR-700 so we're weary to give them a recommendation on their HDMI capabilities and other stuff. Hope this helps!

    • @TwoGuyzTech
      @TwoGuyzTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This absolutely depends on what kind of speakers they are, what size room you want to fill, your desired listening level, etc. This receiver should be fine with most speakers out there as long as they're fairly efficient - the receiver will direct power to whatever channel needs it at any given time so the rated output should be more than enough. But, of course, the only way to know for sure is to try it yourself. Thanks for watching!

      Not sure this will help but on both this NEW unit & our now returned 750 predecessor-We used the 7 speakers we have in BOTH of the 7 speaker option layouts. I too expected big problems with it being under powered but it is FINE for us at least. We have 2 Large Tower Klipsch speakers (set to Small in settings speaker-manually) with Klipsch Center-For the Rear (or should I say almost BESIDE us but a bit behind at an angle) we have old BIC Bookshelf units that face out with speakers going out in THREE directions. Now for the 2 speakers in the VERY REAR of the living room area we have old Large Polk Towers. The space is as follows----
      The Front Towers are 12 feet in front of us
      The Rear Surround odd old Bics are about 3 feet away to our left & right rear
      The Large rear most Polk Towers are 8 feet behind us.
      Now I use this system ASLL DAY for Gaming & I game 6-12 hours EVERY day as I am 72 yrs young-retired & crippled up old USMC Combat Veteran all shot up to Hell & back so literally use this ALL day to game (distracts me from severe & chronic PAIN!). Then we use it from 6PM till midnight streaming HBO -Disney and other RGE now aging OUTLAW Subwoofer that is the size of a damned coffee table as well:-)
      *Now I Game LOUDLY and we watch my movies quite loud as well since I LIKE them loud plus half deaf from fucking War. The USMC was NOT kind to my ass so using low volume is just not gonna cut it. I bought this just to prove to my wife as -POOR health etc) well as myself that it would simply be too much of a wimp for my LAST AVR (again=Poor health etc) But it surprised me. A LOT! I was set to this time spend up to $2500 for a 9.2 with ability to add another Amp or 2 to expand. But turned out this is MORE than fine for us both (sadly...) And in the end I guess when I om experience!!!)factor in just how fast these can and DO fail (especially the HDMI crap issues) and become obsolete etc. ) I just kept thinking about ALL the BEER I could buy (And GAMES!) for my new PS5 and Xbox Series X etc....The space this system operates in is pretty large with sloping Cathedral Ceilings (sadly with Popcorn as well-GRRR!). From the TV to the rear speakers is about28-30 feet long by 40 feet wide (open layout SORTA) . With the large speakers plus the stout Sub this has had NOT ONE SINGLE issue with driving all we run and at a sound level I feel most would be MORE than happy with. The sound is CRISP-CLEAN with just the right amount of punch & detail I need to JUST make it good enough for ME.
      Sorry for the long post but hope it helps someone? For the PRICE? NO way I see anything as good or even close. I TRIED the all new Yamaha Costco sold-TWICE! Both units had SO many problems I bailed & returned them both. I am also a lifetime Yamaha lover and fanboy (OK Fan CODGER). I preferred their sound as well as reliability. Only had ONE ever fail me in 20 years and UNLIKE any other Brand, Yamaha gave me NO grief FIXING it! Onkyo (that I was planning to buy at Crutchfield) has NO usable Warranty & NO USABLE Service! Be advised and do an online search on Onkyo Warranty NIGHTMARES before you buy...
      ****Lastly I am so sorry for Typos or gibberish as I am trying my best to upload & type this from my iPhone at my Surgeons office:-( This friggin thing often types only God knows what but I'm trying to hurry before being called...

We think both the S760H and the new Onkyo TX-NR6050 (which we're currently in the process of reviewing) would be good picks depending on availability at your Costco warehouse. The Onkyo is a little bit more money (coming in at $99) but it has a higher power rating and more features. We've tested it with our PS5 @ 4K 120Hz HDR10 4:2:2 32 gigabit which is the max that the PS5 can do, but Onkyo says on their website that it can pass through full 40 gigabit signals (for devices like Xbox Series X). Thanks for watching! The speakers we tested in that video are EXTREMELY hard to drive for even higher-end receivers, because they're VERY power hungry compared to most speakers. We also tested in a larger room meaning the receiver had to output more power to reach the same volume levels that we're used to. The Jamos on the other hand are all pretty sensitive (between 87dB to 90dB) 8-ohm speakers so you shouldn't have too much of a problem with either the Yamaha TSR-700 or the Denon AVR-S760H. Glad this video was helpful and we hope you enjoy the new theater! :)

    Is there any App that I can use to control the receiver? Would I be able to use the app to play only one, two or all the channels at the same time?

    Does this AVR offers Dolby Atmos sound? Can it be used on a small room size 9' x 9' ? By the way, what is the Costco price for this AVR?

      @@UnitedRedDevil13 Thanks, but what about the price at Costco? I heard $440 + renewing membership, and I guess all in all it will cost $500 + tax, a savings of about $50 if I buy it at Denon website. By the by, any speaker recommendation for the 9' x 9' small room?

      Others have shown the receiver passing through 4K/120Hz @ 4:4:4 without issue from an Xbox Series X. Thanks for watching!

    The onboard phono inputs are eye candy phono stage is inadequate, you'd be better off without it and using an external phono preamp/phono stage. How does this AVR compare to the same offering by Pioneer's VSX935

    Is a Denon AVR-687 worth keeping with the newer hdmi components or just buy a AVR -S760H?

    • @TwoGuyzTech
      @TwoGuyzTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We would recommend getting the AVR-S760H if you want to take advantage of newer HDMI components, especially game consoles etc. Thanks for watching!

    Does this receiver have a trigger on the back to hook up an external amp? Or no?

      Thanks for watching! This AVR doesn't have any trigger inputs or outputs nor pre-outs for external amps unfortunately.
