I can’t even tell you how long I have been looking for a simple description of how to select in a random order a spot on a PowerPoint to reveal text. This was the best. Thanks!
I have a use case for this while at work. In fact, I need it today! I am an English teacher and today I am beginning a new unit that focuses on Daily Routines! I do believe this is the video I've diligently searched for for the past 40 minutes. Let's have a go!!!
Hi Leila! In a class I was working in with Special Needs students, I made a quiz program using PowerPoint much in the same way you've done here with your function quiz. It was a cooking class and the object of the quiz was to be able to distinguish between a fruit or a vegetable. Each slide had a picture of a fruit or a vegetable. I also added vocal narration to each slide. When the slide came up, I (as the narrator) would ask "Is this a fruit or a vegetable?" On each slide was also a clickable button, one each for "yes" and "No". The student chosen to answer the question would give their response and I, as the presenter, would click on the chosen button. I programmed the buttons on each slide to correspond to the question. If the picture was a fruit and the student chose Yes it's a fruit, I (as the voice of the button) would say "You are correct!", otherwise, if the "No" button was chosen, the response would be "No, please try again!". I am happy to say, it kept the students engaged and interested. I also made one for kitchen tools and appliances. In that case, the quiz was multiple choice with three choices, and the buttons were similarly programmed as the previous quiz. I have seen ways I could really improve it with what I have learned from your tutorials! Thank You so much!!
Finally someone that can understand their audience! This is the first through, step by step video I have seen! I'm the type of person that cannot miss one step! Missing just one step will throw me completely off when I'm learning something new. Thank you!
You are my favorite. I LOVE PowerPoint and get asked often to design presentation materials. You are my number one "go-to" subject matter expert. Thank you for the wonderful way you teach.
yup i got it . the absolute best click to reveal animation i've ever seen literally followed each and every step you've did in this video leila . thanks for this incredible video .......
Hi Leila, great video again. Just 2 suggestions: The grouping of text and shape is redundant. You can just write directly into the shape. That way when you use the animation pane for doing the triggers, you don't have to name the shapes. The included texts will appear in the trigger options. Saves a little work. Love your channel. :-)
True, I usually do that because I'm more flexible in their placement and could add potentially more than one text box to a shape. But otherwise, writing the text into the shape is faster. Thanks for the feedback!
@@LeilaGharani Keeping text and shape separate allows more manipulation of text placement and text size. Few weeks ago I talked about the use of triggers, I used it to cover a "secret" picture (see here th-cam.com/video/ZaMd1WE_pFs/w-d-xo.html ) and also used triggers to make Noughts and Crosses teaching game ( th-cam.com/video/yKxx2dkgT0A/w-d-xo.html ) Keep up the good work Leila! your videos are so helpful. A big thank you !
Great and helpful video, Leila! I am working on my presentation to make a gameshow for children on mountainous region where i am volunteering. I need to create a presentation that reveals one text whenever the children give one right answer, and they have to answer right 10 times to reveal the whole sentence. Your video helped me make it. Thank you alot! Keep going. I learned a lot from the video.
I've been using spreadsheets since Visicalc - the great granddaddy of ALL spreadsheets! And I learned some new tricks today! I'd never spotted the animation painter before. LOL. Thanks Leila!
I just wanted to say thank you! I have spent much of the day endlessly searching through the internet to find a solution to exactly this. And your video was perfect! Helped me out with exactly what I needed. You just earned yourself a like and a sub! :)
I love to watch this woman for reasons more than one. Firstly , she is beautiful, secondly , she has an interesting and lovely broadcast quality voice, thirdly, she is a skillful, talented and interesting teacher. Great job. I have learnt so much from you. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Leila. Talented as usual👏. I highly recommend to all ppt users to install the free add-in Power user. It has indispensable relevant features that I'm sure you will use at your daily work.
Just learning about Ctrl+g shortcut to group objects was already worth watching the video for! As always, thank you Leila for your simple yet detailed tips video. A true MS Office MVP 👏
I repeat all the comments made I too have been looking for someone to take me through the steps especially the identificatio of the boxes (table 1, 2 etc??) Thank you so much!! You are at terrific teacher!!
Thank you Leila! I have created quite a few PPT presentations over the years, but not regularly enough to ever get really good at it and thus had not been introduced to the trigger animation before until I needed it and discovered your video. Your explanation was great.....clear and concise with excellent examples. I had no trouble implementing your steps. Thank you.
This video was so well done! Not only the technical aspect of the procedure, but also the ideas on how to use it. Thank you so much! I'm also an English teacher and this is going to be sooo useful! Thank you very much, I've subscribed
About the Quiz I found it very useful tutorial. An idea to improve it could be using a form to submit the quiz in powerpoint and then collect the response from students in an excel for further evaluation.
Thank you so much! This was immensely helpful for a 12 days of Christmas Spiff I'm running at work to make the covering for each pic disappear when triggered.
Wow you are brilliant. You are an excellent teacher. I've wasted so much time on other videos and yours are the best. Thank you so much. You are going to make me look so clever when I do presentations. 😆 🤣
Thanks again for another very informative video... just want to add that on newer office apps pressing alt+f10 shows and hide the selection pane... thanks again❤
Use case: Embedded quizzes and interactivity would be fantastic for presentations in higher education. elarning in higher ed can involve lots of lectures, but chunking these down and including interactions would help with engagement, I think.
Tuesdays w/Leila ... and yet again another clever item added to my "Bucket List Items From Leila". Thank you ... thank you ... thank you ... PS Snacks ... peanuts (w/beer) ... brownies (w/coffee) ... all good. But broccoli??? ... WHAT???
