    I recently bought my Aodhan Ah06 (18x10 +25mm) stretching out some 225/40s for my Nissan Cedric on maxxed out BCs. So far so good considering I daily it on 285 towards Atlanta, which is a very shitty highway with ugly bridge seams 🤣 honestly I love the look but I’m dreading the day I can’t swerve out in time for THE killer pothole. Most of the time I drive way under 65mph so I’m not at all too concerned. No bends so far. I’m actually very impressed considering I paid 771 for the set. Great daily wheels while I save up for some Rays.

    Smaller side wall may get your car lower but it also makes it slower while causing your speedometer to be off(maybe not your BMW) and as you discovered easier to damage

    Good stuff, couple of notes though. You changed the profile from 45 to 35, not only is it a big change in diameter but you're taking away protection, should have gone 245/40. Potholes are not "Normal" road conditions, if they were then city wouldn't patch them. Aodhan can't possibly be expected to replace the wheel you bent by not avoiding a pothole and using a 10mm lower profile tire. If you expected them to then you should've contacted Michelin to replace the tires since the damage would have been from "Normal" driving. I don't know if this is a Cali mentality but the real issue here is that there was a pothole in the first place, meaning the City would be liable.

    • @FritzRamos
      @FritzRamos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I explicitly included the part about pot holes being normal on California roads and Aodhan being a California based company should know this. (Normal vs pristine road conditions).
      Apex, another California based wheel company considers potholes normal and specifies this in their policy.
      If the wheel isn't intended to run a slightly lower profile shouldn't the company disclose that? Seems like a huge safety concern
      Also I didn't need to contact Michelin about their tires because American Tire warrentied them, under their warranty potholes are normal road conditions and covered under their warranty.
      If the company didn't list the policy in that manner I wouldn't say anything. They sold their wheel with an advertised warranty and didn't deliver.

    • @n01928
      @n01928 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Even worse than 10mm the 35 is % of tire width so he went from 110.25 to 85.75. Or about an inch in height. Also lol at it being a CA company as if it's the only state with potholes. Every state has potholes. The MW/NE has it way worse due to snow/ice. You are right about the warranty though you'd be hard to pressed to find a manufacturer that covers it since it's a significant impact that you can't really design around regardless of material/construction type. A CNCd or CF might be stronger but they still have a limit. Even OEMs don't cover this damage. Definitely the city should be liable but getting reimbursed is another story in many states. Expecting the manufacturer to pick up the tab on something they have zero control over is crazy. What's next free wheel replacement for curbed wheels?

    Fritz would you recommend the stage2 for the m235i? I have the stock one for 3months now, and I am considerig for a tune. Is it a noticeble difference in power? If so, is the bootmod3 the way to go? I am your subsriber and I watch all of your videos, but still, I have order the BMS intake, should I cancel it and order just the scoop?
    Thanks and geetings from Slovenia!

    • @FritzRamos
      @FritzRamos  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. If you are tight on money I wouldn't get the intake. If you are okay with the cost and want the sound then go for the intake, otherwise a high flow drop in filter will do. As far as bm3, the stage 1 and stage 2 tune are noticeable. I should have a long term review out early next year, but so far so good.

    Potholes are 100% impact damage. Outside influence. I’d be surprised if any company would replace your wheel for you for hitting a pothole or anything else. It’s not a defect in the product.

    Fitment Industries offers a 2yr warranty for $16 per wheel, full refund of the damaged wheel, no questions ask. FI has all the Aodhan wheels and all of them cost about 10% less than the Aodhan site, which it is much more than 16 per wheel, justifies buying the warranty. FI also offer military discount.
    *To Aodhan defense, a pothole is not normal road conditions, that, imo, is an impact, but that is just my opinion.
    You can also check your CC warranty, usually it is from six to twelve months. To say a quick story, once I dropped my cell phone, CC refunded the phone.

    So you dented your rim (it didn’t break mind you) and couldn’t get someone else to pay for it or replace it. Problecito. Your complaining about a “technicality” but that is exactly what you are trying to use for your argument. A big pothole is obviously not “normal” road conditions.

  • @jaredh8555
    @jaredh8555 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I laughed out load. You hit a pothole with a thunderous boom and undersized tire. They appear to have held up well. Although I can understand you argument, you are just plain wrong. A pothole is an impact. I just bent an expensive Vossen wheel on a pothole and was pissed at myself, not them.

    • @FritzRamos
      @FritzRamos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you understand the argument then how is it wrong? Potholes are normal in California, this is a California company therefore a California company should know that that their wheels will be subject to potholes. Try looking at APEX's warranty, they're another California based company. If Aodhan didn't want to cover potholes why didn't they exclude it in their warranty? It's because they want people to assume that it's covered and then try to hide behind a technicality, especially when they know about this video. My tire was not undersized, if their wheels can only be supported by a certain tire size then they should also say that.

    • @jaredh8555
      @jaredh8555 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FritzRamos apex clearly states they do not cover an impact caused by a pothole as stated below.
      This limited warranty does not cover any damage arising from the improper fitment for the intended vehicle, mishandling during transit, damage caused by tire mounting equipment, damage during vehicle installation, or otherwise caused by unintended use such as off-roading, going off the paved track surface, contact with other vehicles, impact with potholes, curbs, berms, barriers, objects in the road, or impact with other road and track hazards, or applications that exceed the wheel’s indicated load rating. Rim cracks or bends are not warrantable if there is a clear sign of impact that caused the damage.
