I think I found your channel within the last week or so, probably because you were going to be traveling through Albuquerque, where I live (for now). I hope Albuquerque didn't scare you too much. It saps my spirit from time to time.
It seems like that was so long ago, and yet it was really just last week. So much has happened. Over the past two weeks, it's all kind of a blur. Thanks for sticking around, and hopefully, something good will come from all of this.
Welcome to Utah. I've lived in Salt Lake for 4 years. It's got its issues but there is a lot of opportunity here for someone willing to work hard. The interesting thing about this channel is watching someone basically show up to a place with nothing and start a new life. I wonder what that would be like and you're doing it. Please keep us updated. Maybe weekly videos of the highlights? What is your ultimate plan? Why not stay somewhere and put down roots?
Yeah, I really think that is the most interesting aspect of this whole thing. I'm just showing up to a new city with absolutely nothing and starting from the very bottom and finding out if that's even possible. What I have found though is that it is way more expensive to live here than where I'm from, and I thought jobs might pay a little more out here to compensate for that but I recently got my first job offer and they are going to pay me the same that I was making in Alabama. So what's the point, really? I could move back to the south, make the same amount of money, and pay half the rent for a bigger place. So these are all the things I'm considering.
@@jordantrouttOG Yeah, you can't really survive here unless you make at least $20/hr. I'd look for something that starts around there and has a possibility to make more. Maybe something in oil/gas, mining, SLC airport, the U of U, or construction. If I had to start from nothing I'd prob try to be an electrical or plumbing apprentice. Once you have experience in those fields you'll always be able to get a good paying job. Of course, I haven't applied for a job in like 5 years so take that for what it's worth.
A: I am here cause I was told you’re cleverly funny and I’m like; I’ll be the judge of that B: I know what esoteric means 🎉 C: staying cause… have you thought about narrating audiobooks or doing some asmr?
A: Who told you I was cleverly funny? and sorry to disappoint. Lol B: Good, that means you can stick around a little while longer. C: I wrote a story last night, and I'm thinking about reading it to you guys. As far as ASMR goes, I actually have this idea for an art installation that would be a room such as a bedroom that has hundreds of hidden microphones in it and when you walk in you wear headphones and any surface that you touch is amplified and sent to your ears. It could make for a trippy experience.
I come here to watch your journey. I miss our nightly work conversations take care - Beth
I don't know why I subscribed either, but I am and enjoy what you have done so far LOL. Wish ya the best and will continue watching.
I'm glad you are enjoying this. Sometimes, I just feel like I'm wasting people's time with this. Thanks for the support!
