Nicely played Lester. I am getting to grips with abc notation as you have explained it. You mention " clever people" that can read manuscript!!!! No!... You are the clever one. I really do want to know how you can remember hundreds of tunes?..without any prompts. I need the notes to remind my stupid forgetful head what to play. Just how do you do it? That is a serious question and O would be grateful if you find time to tell me? Thanks Peter
I carry the attached doc round on my phone. It is an incipits list of the tunes in my current session repertoire with the tune name and the first 3/4 bars in ABC. This is usually enough to remind me what to play and then the rest is just down to memory. I also have Trad Musician on my phone along with my ~900 tune ABC file for all other eventualities. Hope this helps www.dropbox.com/s/hylvb91epaxzqab/Tunes.pdf?dl=0
@@MelodeonTunes Dear Lester. You really are a Wizard. What you have sent me is a Gold mine! So many thanks. I really did wonder how you did it all. The ABC does make sense now. I struggle a bit with it as I was brought up with dots and can see at a glance how the tune goes. With the ABC I will have to learn exactly what note is where on the box. A big thank you Lester. Pete
Would love to see a series on how you converted your box to a 12 bass skinless Erica, taking off celluloid appears particularly problematic
