  • Today, we fix my sticky G# on the Stradella bass of my Dallapé!
Please, please, please always have a professional fix your instrument - while this worked for me, these are complex instruments and a lot could have gone wrong, That said....here's how it went!

The mechanism stems from the pipe organ which was invented 2250 years ago (Alexandria, Egypt). Those wires are called stickers, trackers and roller board lateral displacer wires. Just bought and instrument with the same problem.

Appreciate your enthusiasm and taking time to make the video, not ultra helpful though, sorry. Your helper was right to comment about a leverage point. The professionals have special little tools and pliers etc for straightening bent rods. I've discovered accordions very late in life and am learning to play and repair myself. Fascinating and soul destroying ! lol

Hah, very true! This was a pretty early video for me, back when making *something* was better than nothing. Definitely learned a lot (and cringed a lot) watching it again! 😂

I fixed all the bass buttons but for the one I have it feels like one of the baffles is not closing all the way and is causing a single note. Any advice on how one could fix that?

There may be tiny screws if it not adjustable.
