Wheatstone Aeola 100th Birthday
มุมมอง 3182 หลายเดือนก่อน
11-Oct-2024 is the 100th birthday of my Wheatstone Aeola English Concertina. It is shown as being completed, as one of a batch of 6 Model 17 48 Key Black English concertinas, on 11-Oct-1924. Apologies for the mediocre playing, the concertina is very much my second instrument after my melodeons.

A Danish dance (and tune) which they use to poke fun at Swedish people as they promenade. Also proof that I am slightly better at playing tunes than editing videos :)
Cajun Two-Step - Lester - Melodeon
มุมมอง 1.4K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
A tune that I knew nothing about but my chum Rees Wesson says "I've always wondered why that tune is called Cajun Two-Step as it's unlike any Cajun music that I've heard (and I've heard a lot). Apparently, the tune comes from Nathan Abshire’s playing on the Sonet album ‘The Cajuns Volume 2' although it's not really a two-step." It appeared as the final tune on the Topic album 'The Moon's In a F...

Thanks, really useful.

very interesting video! Does adding the stop pull knob (and drilling through the casework) contribute to air leakage? I'm confused as to how you might prevent air leakage after drilling through the casework in the part that's supposed to be mostly sealed other than the reeds. cheers
Great stuff!!--VTown Paddy Patrick
Class 🎉
epic!
Lovely tune from the excellent Winster Morris. Brings back memories of the summer, watching them dance this at Winster Carnival.
Excellent- Thanks
Excellent- Thanks
great tune I am sure i could use that somewhere - will dig it out
Nice work.
Well done. Thank you.
Hello, can you please contact me? I bought an old hohner similar to yours but I have a problem, no one can identify what model it is.
My melodeon playing gnome committed suicide, and departed in pieces. :( 😪
Nice ! thanks
One of my all time favourites and beautifully played too! Thank you. Black Jake of Norwich.
Still got that wonderful tone hasn't it - thanks for the cheerful rendition! 😁
To the woods !
Thank you Lester, I now saw your workshop in another angle, all your tools and materials. I 've been watching all your vidéos on the Hohner 2915, I learned a lot!
Dear Lester, I learne SO MUCH from you, thank you for everything!💝
So awesome you made this video!! In gonna find a piano accordion to destroy 😉
What happens if u take to much material off? Can u fix this somehow?
Lovely playing! I prefer this tempo to the other ones.
Just one of the loveliest tunes in morris.
Well played
The Master!
Hi, Mr. Bailey! You play wonderful and I.ve been listening to you for years and watching how you fix accordions and how patient you are. This accordeon is diatonic? Is it a C/F? Could you send me the schematic of the 12 bass? Thanks a lot!
هنا النقطه المهمة التي فعلتها بجد عملك رائع مع تعير الااصوات ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Such a happy tune. Thanks.
@@possumbuddy I'm afraid it's in D/G I can transpose it to give the C/F equivalent but works earn that the layout of the upper 4 buttons is variable dependant on the maker
Bloody hell - I think this must be the first time I'm writing an appreciation comment for you, Lester - but please know you've been *greatly* appreciated by myself and many of my close friends. Thank you so much for this tune and indeed, I have to agree with the previous comment - it's refreshing to hear a tune played properly. Thank you so much for this and all your other videos. There are many like myself who watch and are indebted to you. We are grateful - thank you.
Please keep playing Lester, you are my go to if I need to hear a tune played properly, thank you
@@adriangiles1437 thank you
Once again at the door of Lester. He has a way of playing which is always generous to the learner.
Thanks.I have the Melodion book by Rodger Watson and this gives some idea of how the tempo in the tune goes as I am only a beginner
A master at work
Just the ticket. You are the go to melodeon player for learning a tune.
Apparently Custer's men used to go into battle with this tune being played....
Great. Many thanks
Lester, have you heard the Christmas carol “Chariots”? I think the writer lifted from (or was inspired by) this tune.
Good afternoon Lester, what is the height of the felt and leather you use? I found there are many sizes from 1,5 mm up to 6 mm for accordions.
Thank you kind sir!
For some reason, I was thinking of "Swedish Rhapsody". Now *that* would be a melodeon challenge...
Good old Lester again!
For the Bellows tape? what kind of glue? Thanks
I use fast grab 15 minute pva
What kind of glue to use for the metal corners? Thanks
