    This a real cool project. I always like to keep making things for my future sessions. It’s part of the play - Prep is play. Well done, sir.

      Hey Jeremiah, really good to hear from you again. I absolutely agree about it being part of the "play". I am sitting watching my printer work away on my desk as we speak :P It will be A LOT of work ( a month or more possibly ? ) but it will have a lot of pay off I think in many ways. Thank you again!

    This is so interesting! I've actually started on a project 2 days ago where I draw out paper "terrain" that's gridded so it's easy to slot onto a battle mat. It's literally cut up pieces of high GSM paper - but I've found that being able to visualize the room that way added a lot to my experience, especially when playing wargames like Forbidden Psalm.
    So I've decided to draw up pieces whenever I need them, and so far I've accrued about 15 or so drawings of statues, broken pillars, chests, doors, etc. I'm hoping that after a few weeks or months I can have potentially a hundred, if not more, and scan them all in and let people print them out on cardstock - that is to say, I'm completely on board with your idea of making things cheaper and more accessible!
    It's definitely harder for people, like you, who enjoy verticality, though - I've been looking into origami or papercraft for that kind of thing, but for now I'm happy with my battle mats and cut out paper terrain :) I wish I could link the images of how it looks, but TH-cam tends to delete comments with links - images are on my Twitter (under the same username) but I'll probably try to make a video on it soon. Great video!!

      Hey there Chaoclypse! Thank you for dropping in. I took some time to look at your work on twitter. Very good stuff there. You also have a new subscriber and a new follower ;). Yeah the verticality can get costly and time consuming. I have over a dozen tiles/walls that need to be painted and I just finished with an 18+ hour print of about 8 2" wall segments. So it takes time even for small rooms for sure. I love the work you did on those dungeon rooms. Thank you for sharing that, I may have to mix some of that with my 3d tiles some how. I was looking at how I might be able to make that work. Thank you so much again for sharing. On a note of you making paper dungeons... You might check out E-Z Dungeons by Fat Dragon Games ( its under their paper terrain /fantasy section up top of page. Some years ago I tried printing a few of them and they turned out really nice. If you make them well they look like 3d printed dungeons. Really good product.

    3D printing really opens up new horizons, I'm looking forward to seeing what you're going to make from that :)

      Hey Locutus! I am as well. I am finishing up on a 20+ hour print at the moment, 7 hours to go. And that is less than 1/4 of the board and not counting the miniatures and furniture. It will be a ride for sure. Thank you for stopping by! :)

      Hi Eric, I thought so. When I complete it, it will be the largest project I have worked on for a hobby. That's either sad or exciting. I am going to err on the exciting angle ;)

    I don't know anything about HeroQuest system, nor it's rules and why it's a good game. A review/overview would be great!

    • @adventuresinsolitaire
      @adventuresinsolitaire  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Patrick! I can tell you that it is no where near as complex as most modern dungeon crawls. There was a reason it was on the store shelves at Walmart in the late 80s to early 90s. Well that and it was produced by Milton Bradley, but then again you could say there is a reason it was produced by them as well ;). I will likely do multiple rules overview videos for different variants. My biggest struggle with it is that I am currently without a copy in my collection. I may end up having to use the printed resources I have for a full on out DIY project for the cards and manuals and such. But a review/overview is certainly something I would like to do.

      @Patrick Garon Yes absolutely. I just need to wait for a time when it is in my budget to pick it up. It will happen eventually ;)
