I have watched your video for a second time the 636 is the best sounding mic by far and yes the static has problems with their king switch I have two of them but they're the D 104s and the same issue❤❤❤❤❤ keep it up rooster your helping all of us whether you know it or not
I knew the Stryker mics would not be very good but had no idea what the Extreme sounded like. The 636 definitely still the winner. If you have issues with the switch just hit it with some Fader F5 cleaner and you back in business. Thanks for this test Ill be getting one of those Extreme mics for sure.
Great comparison! I personally love my old school Telex Turner RK 56. It’s been modded some. Every mic sounds a bit different with a persons voice. Hard to beat that Stryker 655 as far as clean audio! The Stryker mic has 2 adjustments inside. I never could tell much difference turning them. Well built mic. I love my Driver Extreme mic. You can cut the foam in half inside to open up a bit too. Sounds better. Well built! Thanks for taking the time to do the demo, much appreciated! 😁😁
I have a 198, 636, new RK56 and an old telex RK56… and man you don’t need me to tell you that the telex blows the rest out of the water as far as just a big bold talk back😂. I have to turn mic gain, echo, everything down when I hook the telex up.
I like the Astatic and Driver extreme. I have been using the Astatic with my TRE top one and my SuperStar CM-4. I get good reports with both mics. great video. Makes my wallet start to move around.
I think the new Stryker has a lot better lows then any of the other mics and if you want a big radio sound just adjust that base pod on the inside for more base
Rooster 636 is the best sounding but if you use the ranger that lip guard needs to be right up next to your top lip for the best quality sound and you said you were not up that close to your lip me personally I run the d104 and yes it does have a a Tennessee to be scratchy❤❤❤❤❤❤ love what you do for us and thanks for doing what you do to help us
Love the 636. I have a 636 mic with the steel cord on my stryker 497. Everyone says it. sounds awesome. I only had one problem with the mic switch were the little spring broke inside. So I used a spring from a pen.
This is what I think, my humble opinion anyways, with my ears hearing them on an iPhone 12Pro cellphone. I mean ruin that because I believe what you’re listening to these on makes a difference also. #1 The Astatic 636L #2, And that’s a really, really close #2, the Driver Extreme. #3 The Stryker and #4 The Ranger. Take that FWIW. And thanks for the video and chance to evaluate before buying Rooster. 🐓 However, I would be curious to hear if there’s a difference in a different radio. Especially the Galaxy DX959. And I say especially because that’s what I have at the moment. Not the greatest to some I’m sure but it’s what I could afford at the time at the price it was offered to me. The Stryker as seen here is on my want/wish list, but then, so are a lot, and I mean, a lot, lol, of other things from a wide spectrum of things. :/ P.S. As we all know all to well, hindsight is always 20/20, but I wish I’d of never sold me Cobra 29GTL, my Cobra 148GTL or my Cobra 2000GTL. :(
I have to agree 636 with this test but I bet the 2018 extreme with the NC switch on would win if it was included in the test but all the mics were close but the ranger it just fell off
Im running the 636 carbon fiber on my 655. Just ordered the new stryker 76 and after hearing this test im kinda disappointed already. The 636 i think sounds the best and probably just keep running it
The 636 at 12 sounded the best to me by a far margin, the problem is everyone has different speakers, radios, and filters so everyone will give you a different answer. I was listening to the test with some Sennheiser studio headphones that are about as flat as you can get in a headphone. I would be more interested to see how they handle the road noise, going down the road with the windows open.
I thought they all sounded good. Couldn’t tell a whole lot of difference. I run a stars n stripes 636 and one of the old road king mics on my Connex 3300 and everyone says they both sound good.
@@bradleywilkerson8497 to be fair the new ones are junk and shouldn't even be in the conversation. I wouldn't waste money buying one to prove the point.

This was a VERY VERY GOOD TEST!!!!! Thanks for posting
Great test. Thank you
liked the Astatic @ 12:00 and the Driver extreme @ 12:00
636 sounded the best over my surround sound with ranger a close 2nd.
Great video great test! I like my Ranger 198

In the CB world, as with the ham world, noise reduction in both transmitting and receiving is absolutely crucial for good comms. 73

636 sounds real good on my rci x9.

I love my Palomar SL41 and I wish they still made those, the Stryker SR76NC looks like the SL41.

The extreme sounded the cleanest. More solid sound. Astatic in second place.
198 is king for noise canceling and smooth talking but gotta get up on it
I hate to say it but I like the 636 😂
636 definitely the winner.
Driver extreme for me. Followed by Ranger 198. Don't like the raspyness of the 636. The Stryker didn't impress me at all. Thanks for the vid. 👍
I’ve got 636s in all my vehicles and my house they sound the best.
636 to my ears hands down
636 has the best audio
Any chance more comparison videos in the future with mics, maybe outta the box mics compared to power mic?
636 is my choice in this test
These trucks run so quiet now you don’t even need a noise canceling mic in a big truck anymore

I believe the Ranger 🎤 should stay on a ham radio the Truckers 🎤 has the best sound all the way through the range.
thanks for the video good stuff 👍
636 was the best to me
The carbon is the best sounding to me over the regular 636.
636 then extreme
Yiu should have adjusted the tone control on the Stryker. Could have added some more bass in the sound.
Probably do an individual video demonstrating
I have a hard time trying to adjust both the adjustments, I mean telling any difference that is.
That astatiic wide open sounds the most natural
great test. now im wondering which is better the driver extreem or the superstar stock mike ?
636 is a Front Runner.
I'd hate to have to live off the difference on 636 & Driver X
I had a reports on my Connex 3300hp with the ranger198. The guy said it sounded like I was sitting next to him.
All 4 mics are good sounding in my opinion
@Rooster_Radio they do! Good test you performed.

I noticed the the SRA-198 Modified Mic won’t work with High-Mod Radios 📻
For some reason don’t get along.
