only he got it wrong. Electrons are the negativity in the atom, so a negative charge is associated with overabundance of electrons, not a positive.

    *_Summary Of The Video :-_*
    *Electrostatic Shielding*
    * A person standing inside a metallic cage doesn't get hurt.
    * Metallic cages are basically conductors.
    * In electrostatic condition electric field inside a conductor must be zero.
*NOTE* - Above is true only for a conductor.
    * Because of electric field everywhere is zero that means our entire conductor must be in equipotential.
    * Work done in moving a charge inside a equipotential surface is zero.
    * Electric Field is always perpendicular to equipotential) surface.
*What happens when a lightening strike to cage?*
    * Lightening basically is charges moving inside an electric field.
    * person inside a metallic cage do not get any shock due to lightening because electric field inside cage is zero and charges can not enter inside .
    * Above effect is called Electrostatic Shielding.
    * First discovered by Michael Faraday.
    Also called *Faraday Cage*
*An Airplane also act like a Faraday Cage.

Lemme correct you its electro magnetic field cause electric field or magnatic field doesn't have any electrons flowing it's electro magnatic field electro and magnetic field is constant it's the force of our universe electrons don't even move by themselves electromaganetic fied and electrons moves simultaneously creating current.

    Great explanation.
    A few things I haven't managed to process :
    - these steps seem to apply to non-closed conductors, but I assume they don't; why not?
    - I would have thought the moving charges in the lightning stike would disrupt the electrostatic state of thr conductor, so how do we know the potential remains uniform?
Thanks to anyone who can answer these!

    • @prernathakur2585
      @prernathakur2585 ปีที่แล้ว

the potential of the conductor remains uniform that is zero at all cases bcoz the dielectric constant is infinty (very high) therefore it doesnt get charged and any lightning that strikes the conductor basically moves towards ground ( 0 potential)

Inside a metal sphere, a person touches a negatively charged wall and there is no movement of electrons in his palms?
What if there is a hole in the metal sphere?

    • @padmavathivedavalli2639

I think if there's hole in the wall then net electric field inside the conductor will not be 0 causing the person to get electrocuted
