today I am showing you this purple dot mandala painting that I made on a cardboard. Actually I wanted to make a big mandala but I didn’t have the canvas at home so I decided to make it myself with a cardboard. I am going to show you the step by step process of making this mandala.

Just found your video as I'm starting to get into this. I have a TON of cardboard but am not sure what to use to prep it and I only have matte acrylic paints. Will that be an issue? But back to the cardboard, what did you use between it and whatever paper? you put on it

You can put any paper on it. Sometimes I paint directly on cardboard. Matte acrylic paint will be fine for dot painting. Just mix it with pouring medium.

Actually I did not measure it while I was making it. When I start a mandala I don’t even know how it will look and how the design will be. I just paint one dot at a time. You should also do that. Just learn the technique and follow your heart to make the design. Just start and draw random circles and create the design. Don’t worry too much about the results. If you make it with love and follow your heart, it will come out beautiful.

Whole canvas is around 16 inches. Between circles have around 1 inch or 2 inch gap. Actually I never keep track of measuring. I just draw circles randomly. I can make mandalas In Any measurements. You can also try. Just make circles in any size without much thinking and start drawing the design and you will be amazed to see how easy it is to make mandalas. Today I am going to post a video on how to make a mandala. You can watch it and learn.
