    I am so impressed with Maryke. Ive been to 2 doctors and one said I need a new knee...wrong! Got 2nd opinion and discovered I have a major IT band problem. Listening to Maryke's videos helped me more than anyone. Explains so logically and saved me from getting it worse. You are so HELPFUL and give the most definitive information . Doing your exercises so know there is hope....stay tuned! Bless you from my heart.

    Thank you! My PT assigned the figure 4 stretch for my IT band and it only made the problem worse so I am excited to try these!

    Amazing video thank you, was just wondering how long we should be holding these stretches for? and how many reps? Thanks!

      Usually 30sec x3 reps is enough. Overstretching can cause it to feel worse so be gentle.

    Gait training might be a nice addition for this. I am definitely hiking my right hip up when I walk. How do I retrain for this? 7:46

    How can you do this if you have hip bursitis-glute tendinopathy....stretching is awful for tendinopathy as you stated in previous videos
    And boy foam roller work is awful as my it band has found so go easy
    I have knee tears so the kneeling one would this make it worse, I could try a pillow under knees I guess

      It sounds like you really need a bespoke plan - your situation is not one that fits any easy default exercise. If you want help with your rehab and an exercise plan, this is something that our team of physios can assess and help you with via video call. My tightness is more at the hip than it is at the knee . Any modifications to account for that please ?

    • @SportsInjuryPhysio
      @SportsInjuryPhysio  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In that case it is not actually IT Band syndrome but something else causing tightness in that area. I can't really recommend anything without assessing you and knowing what is causing it - a physio will be able to assess it for you and give you tailored advice.

    How to deal with a partially torn IT band as diagnosed by MRI.

      You will need a mix of rest + careful strength training. What exercises to do will depend on your specific case and your symptoms.

    I get irritation in the it band stretch and in the glute stretch, is this normal?

    • @SportsInjuryPhysio
      @SportsInjuryPhysio  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It means that the IT band is still too sensitive for that position and it should not be done for now.
