Yea I have had the m12 surge for 5 years it's been something if it broke today id buy a new one. If you were doing a giveaway you'd be my first m18 tool 😆. I don't even have a dual charger just a 6 port m12.
Oh yeah plenty of if 20v/18v from dewalt metabo ryobi. I only have one starter set and a triple hammer from metabo best all day impact for decks and mountains of larger fasteners. They also make the lightest rear handle and framing nailer that I don't own. A fair bit of ryobi table saw 10in miter saw hp models nailer and then the crazy stuff like high volume inflaters hot glue gun ect. I started out dewalt and fexvolt jigsaws recips osslating impacts big boy drills sds ect. Other than digging 8in 2ft holes with augers (flexvolt mud mixer) they don't get much use. My m12 have taken over my needs mostly jigsaw osslating circ saw gen 2 surge fit in a packout ammo can and cover maintenance work. My favorite saw is my flexvolt rear handle it's unstoppable quad stacked plywood no problem. Just never got into m18 like the video showed 5 years the m12 have served my needs and fits into veto bags best. Bosch flexclick gets a notable thumbs up 12v that is better than installation driver any day. Id consider the dewalt hydrolic new impact but only on sale and it may be to large for veto bags with that battery style. Skil 12v is severely underrated seriously cheap and decent bought display models for 10 bucks each they are good car beater tools. The reason for skil 12v us for the auto hammer fantastic for cut nails (square head for historical houses) and romex / fencing staples. I probably won't continue on dewalt anymore unless I gotta have it or flexvolt. More than you needed to know but a little history.
It's 70% of what the m12 fuel one with a small 2ah battery 4ah gets it closer. Thoes combo kits are on sale for next to nothing 199 kit would be tempting if I didn't have so many power tools already. You will find the 12v ossilating tools can go hard but limited battery life. My 20v dewalt has it place under sustained load. Skil 12v isn't half bad ossilating tool I'd take it over a ryobi.
I like the comparison my only thing I’d say is the 5.0 HO with the m12 is a premium HO battery. You should use a HO battery or a forge with the m18 if you have one for apples to apples comparison. The Xc 5.0 you use with the m18 isn’t a HO battery. But lovely video thank you
Already have the M12 and was about to purchase the M18. But after seeing this I'm going to pass. Thanks!

Do you have any 18v tools from another brand or only M12?

I’m itching to get the Skil 12v multi tool, but I’m already into so many different platforms I’m trying to hold off.

New skil 12v charge off a usb adapter 100w pd. Makes it alot better when they get more of thoes batteries out there I'll be more feasible.

@@jbrousseau13 I could have used the forge, but a stacked lithium against the 18650 cells of the HO would not be very fair either. Thanks for watching
@ fair enough
Overall great comparison I’ve always been curious on the surge I’ll have to get the m12 one
Thanks again
Thanks for the video.
