Hey Kanella, I've been making magnets for probably 6 months or so. I don't make them by the skins when I do a painting, pour over something, etc. I dip my bead flat side down into the paint. I like keeping the price down so people can 1.afford it and 2.feel good that they didn't spend a lot of money. Cabochons are a bit pricey and I'd love to use but that would drive the prices up. I haven't been around much been very busy but I still follow you so don't think I haven't. Gotta tell you people that know me immediately know why I wanted "Blue" so bad. Lots and lots of compliments on your work. Thanks again for " Blue ". This painting means so much to me you'll never know. ☮️🙏💜
@@judemorris1426 Hello, you know the glass beads (sometimes called glass gems) that come in different colors and they're used for many things like in a clear glass flower vase or people use in craft projects, etc.? I use clear large size ones, they're the size of the Cabochons that Kanella was using. Cabochons are in my view (financial state) expensive and I think nowadays not to many people would pay $8-10 just for 1 magnet or even $5-6 and I think you'd need to charge that to get your $ back and make a little $. However, when buying the bags of the glass beads you won't be able to use all of them for some will be damaged and unable to use. I try to only use the best out of the bag that's the thing cabochons don't normally have damages. Although if a bag has to many that can't be used I return the bag to the store. I have kept a bag that has to many bad cause the good are just to good. The bags differ in $ store to store figure $2.99 up to 7.99 you get like 70-75 in the $7.99 bag and the number decreases according to price. I don't recommend hobby lobby for these, usually at least half the bag is bad. It's hard to get descent bags of these and can be frustrating. The ones that are bad I use in my other form of art that I do and they don't have to be perfect, so they don't get wasted and I don't lose the $. Oh yeah, the glass beads have on some what I call scars on the flat side that gets dipped into your paint. At first I didn't want to use them now I use as many as I can that have good scaring. They really can add to the effect of the paint. I look at where I'm going to dip and place the scar where I want , example I had colors that placing the scar in the right spot it comes out looking like fireworks or trees, even scars that look like sun beams, etc. If you try let me know how it works for you. Any questions on the treatment of making these or I should say the way I do it just ask I'll try to keep it as short as possible, lol. I seem to have a problem with being long winded 😄. ☮️🙏💜
@@lululuna1224 Thanks much for all your info. I will give these beads a try. I think I'll try the ones from Dollar Tree. Do you use only clear or some of the colored ones?
@@judemorris1426 i use only the clear if the bead is colored it's going to affect the colors of your paint colors. By the way let the painted bead dry over night, next day you can clean off paint that may have dropped further than you want. I clean off anything that is to far over the edge of the flat side. Then I take them out them on a paper plate and spray with a matte clear can of like rust o leum to help seal the paint. Let that dry then I use e6000 glue or aleena's super tacky glue both at hobby lobby to place magnet on also at hobby lobby, I make sure the glue comes up the sides of the magnet. I get the large round ones they're $7.99 for 50 at hobby lobby, don't use the thin paper like ones that can be cut. Also if you get some that you don't like after paint dries just put in hot water and the paint will peel right off. So when cleaning be careful with water, the spray can get to far on the sides of the bead front so when spraying put as many beads on a large paper plate that will fit f!at, want to have as little space as possible. By the way I've had no success with these beads at the dollar stores. I bounce between Walmart, Joann's and if I'm not having any luck I'll give in and take a chance at hobby lobby. Michael's is also not where I buy from. I'm actually going to check out a all bead shop that opened up awhile back in hope that they have them. Good luck ! ☮️🙏💜

Thanks Kanella love your video I have question are the magnet the same diameter as the cabochon I went on your amazon shop for Canada and before ordering I want to make sure of size thanks much for your help
Lee Witte thanks. There no video. When you create a painting the paint drips off the side of the canvas to the table. Leave that excess paint to dry completely. Then peel it off. And there’s your skins. But you need to have a silicone mat or some sort of paper that will allow the paint to easily peel off.
Yay, thank you for this video. I can’t get that glue here but any jewlery glue that dries clear I think should work. I have to use the gems that were in the floral department at Michaels and they will work too. Finding the cabachons is not easy and Amazon takes two weeks...I’m too impatient for that! You are the best, thanks again and I’m starting on this project tomorrow! 👏👏👏👍💕

I subscribe to your channel and my daughter and I love watching your videos. Thank you for sharing them. When we have tried the same technique, we get tiny silver spots that show up when the cabochon is dry. We do not use silicone in our pours and we are using the diamond glaze specifically, exactly as you did. The silver spots are not there when the glue is wet but it does appear once the diamond glaze dries. I noticed yours don't have any silver spots. Any thoughts on how we can avoid this?

Hello Kanella thanks a lot for the video. I recently glued pour skins to 1inch cabochons. For the magnet, Could you please suggest if I should get a 25mm or 18mm magnet? I measured the cabochons and they look little smaller than 25mm.. maybe something like 23-24mm. Thanks for your help in advance?
@@KanellaCiracoArt Thanks for the reply. My cabochons should be 1 inch that is 25mm, but by measuring i was getting 23mm around. So was thinking if i need small magnet.
Do you use a slightly larger cabuchon (whatever the hell) than magnet because when i was shopping, amazon group the 30 mm with the 25.4mm magnet, but yours look like they are exact, just checking before I buy😀
I have a couple questions. I purchased a bag of the glass things but I found that they are not perfect in shape ...not a true round circle and there is a little distortion when looking thru it. Are yours crystal clear and a true round circle? If so, where do you purchase them. I'll try your store instead. I bought mine from Hobby Lobby.

thank you - good idea
Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼 💗😊 Love Juno, such a sweet face 😘😘😘💗
thanks so much
Cabochon is pronounced like this cab o chon. You did a great job explaining how to.
Fairy stones!!
ohhhhh yes!!! how cool
Like the vidio. I bought a pair of curved fingernail scissors and fount they cut real good. Because they are curved it gets close to the cabochon.
Thanks for your help in advance?
hard to say when i dont know the size of your cabochons... id go with the 25mm
@@KanellaCiracoArt Thanks for the reply. My cabochons should be 1 inch that is 25mm, but by measuring i was getting 23mm around. So was thinking if i need small magnet.
Kate agrawal no. Everything you get should be 25mm. Even the magnet.
So cool, I love these! Your Juno is so cute, I just want to hug him!...I have a little dog, he’s my fur baby!
thanks! We love Juno :)
Junior is a beautiful dog 🐕
I meant to say Junu
lol thank you - his name is Juno :)
How do you store your skins? I saw Molly stores in a plastic sheet. Do you have any suggestions?
Also, how long do you let the skins on the mat before storing?
Kelly Ruth I store them between wax or parchment paper. As soon as they’re dry and I can peel them off I transfer them to the wax paper.
Those are so cool. Is it possible to order skins from you?
Oh hmmmmm well that’s an interesting question. I would have to figure that out lol.
Thanks for the video-very helpful! I went on your amazon page to order. I’m not sure what the differences are in the various cabochons? Thank you.
there are different sizes, different amounts... etc.. I just put a bunch on there to give shoppers variety :)
Do you use a slightly larger cabuchon (whatever the hell) than magnet because when i was shopping, amazon group the 30 mm with the 25.4mm magnet, but yours look like they are exact, just checking before I buy😀
Hi Jen - hahah your comment made me laugh lol
you must buy the same sizes.
how long do you let the paint dry before pealing it up?
I want to do these for a Christmas show I am doing. What do you charge for them?
Dianna Ineson I am in Canada - so $5 each or two for $8. If they want more then I’d give a better discount.
I have a couple questions. I purchased a bag of the glass things but I found that they are not perfect in shape ...not a true round circle and there is a little distortion when looking thru it. Are yours crystal clear and a true round circle? If so, where do you purchase them. I'll try your store instead. I bought mine from Hobby Lobby.
yes mine are perfectly round and clear
Where do you purchase them please? I bought mine from Hobby Lobby in the department that has the shells...rocks.
they are listed in my Amazon shops
I think Lucas isn't the only one enjoying the magnets! Thank you for the information and demo. Do you sell these at your shows?Loving Juno!!
hahaha they are fun to play with that's for sure. Yes, I will be selling them at my upcoming show
I would use every inch of the blue skin.🥰🥰🥰
