Reeve will always be Superman. In Cavill's defense he is the only actor who is worthy of playing the part since Reeve. I hope he plays the role many more times. Awesome job to both men,.... RIP Mr. Reeve!

I would have went with Tom Welling from the Smallville Clark Kent series. At the time Welling looked almost like a young Christopher Reeves.

In acting Henry is way better, he portray way more the power of Superman in his walking way and physical attributes. Its is known that the student always will surpass the teacher. Reeves has been a great one, but Henry is surpassing the teacher. Its the only evolution we can see with our own eyes. Sports is the same so in acting too! Admit it and put your emotions to the side.

Benjamin Price I totally agree…hence civil war in the avengers story line. Superman is unique and definitely more relatable. I honestly hate it when people say batman can beat superman in a fight. First of all superman would let him win because he does have the will to win. Its in his moral code. And second batman can only win with Kryptonite, so if you put that in the equation then anyone can beat him. So it becomes a matter of strength and character. Superman wouldn't kill him anyway.

Bro, I would like to highlight one point here. The comment you have posted, I agree. But one striking difference i find in Christopher Revee mainly, is his personality, his appearance, his smile, his joke, and above all there is a humane appearance in him which separates him from rest of the actors. And if you consider Henry as Superman, you will notice there is anger, aggressiveness and some charisma to establish himself as the most dominant one.
This is my view point on these two actors. No doubt Henry Cavill also portrays Superman character in good way, but in my opinion Christopher Revee tops the list as the world's best Superman titular role.
That's because Reeve was the first one to actually take the character seriously and played him like a man instead of an over-the-top caricature. Richard Donner deserves a lot of kudos for what Reeve's Superman became.
Reeve is the quintessential Superman and Donner is the one who made us believe a man could fly

The FX are far superior and the story is more in depth while also a part of a larger universe. Originals may be better films, overall, but no way is Reeves a better Supes than Henry
Lt. Randall McQueen not really, they're very much playing 2 different versions of superman, the script for the Reeves movies was more family friendly and the character had to reflect that. The character Cavill is playing is far more gritty, and arguably a more realistic interpretation.
They were good for the era! Along with Star Wars IV they were the first two modern movie blockbusters! Reeve the ACTOR was BETTER than Cavil, no doubt about it! So go watch Cavil and CGI, i'll watch a Reeve movie any day! He didn't need all the CGI, he WAS Superman!

Nicely done! 1978 was a great year for a LOT of us. The year that a REAL Superman movie was made, one that basically started it all. It's the one that ALL superhero movies are based off of. Watch it again and you'll see what I mean. EVERYTHING in this movie was way ahead of it's time!!

Chris remains my favorite actor to date and always will. As ive said in a previous video, Chris Reeve embodied the character for what it was during his creation. Love, compassion for strangers, and the overall sense of acceptance by so many outsiders of his own kind was the definition of this character, and Chris played it as if he was meant to. Rarely ever do i watch videos crafted by amatuers on youtube, but im glad i watched this one. It was truly edited with professional quality and with a good quality of orchestrated music. Good job to the producer of this video. How long did it take to assemble this?

Yes but I just miss all that "you know you really shouldn't smoke Miss Lane" and that kind of nice innocent charm that Reeves had. That chemistry between him and forget her name was nice.
Man of Steel its just "whats the S mean?" and that stupid military girl when she says to her superior, "I think hes kind of hot", that humor just didnt work for me. And the way they set up his dad dying on the motorway storm just to teach Klark a lesson was stupidly executed.
Dont get me wrong Henry has the look and I luv that they dropped the pants over the leggings but still kept the yellow patterning that would have been the belt. Theres just too many annoying things in Man of Steel, the way it was done.
But I have warmed to Henry Cavil's Superman abit more since BvS and now Justice League.

I love Henry's Superman too. What people refuse to understand is: Man of Steel and BvS represents just a beginning from this amazing and powerful character we know as Superman/Kal El. Speaking of Superman on Man of Steel and BvS: He is starting that responsability to be the hero we all need, the hero who brings hope. He still something different and people don't know for sure if he is good because he is not from Earth, but the fear it's because humanity don't had - YET - the chance to see what he does best: save. And also people started to hear about Superman has only a few months what it's not enough to be an icon hero to anybody and no one knew he has this connection with the humanity, what made him have doubt for seconds about himself, if he was really good. But when Superman dies on BvS, we can see people changing their minds, they realize that Superman died to save everybody. From now we'll see the Superman who has the respect from the audience, he'll rise again. ♥
