Assalam alaykum, ustadh, I am seeking personal advice, I have the opportunity to study either the Shaafi'i or Hanbali madhab, which one do you recommend if one's goal is to look at the ahadith, their authenticity as well as deriving the fiqh from them, does one of these two madhab complement this goal more than the other? BarakAllahu feekum.
@@yassinhassan336imam al shafii was an ahlul hadith scholar which also did use qias where he considered it valid that is in his al risalah (his usool of fiqh maybe the starter of the whole usul ilm) and u could also see examples of it in his work called al umm, in the other hand imam abu hanufa was of what ahlul hadith call ahlul rai wal qias since he lived in iraq and the hadith scene was a little bit complicated(because of tons of maudooat and daeef hadiths from liars) so he ofc used much more qias so did his ashab rahiahummullah, so i would consider imam al shafii and his ashab such as muzani buwaiti humaydi etc. more of what you would call Hadith and athar scholars and allah knows best
