Alhamdulilah, I am a revert and made dua for a course I could attend on weekends and a brother from the masjid came and invited me. To learn the basics of Aqida is not so hard to read yourself, but Tajweed requires a good teacher. I recommend all reverts who may feel anxious to study Tajweed to make the effort. You will be treated well, inshallah.
The point ustadh made about sometimes its better to look within your ethnicity - is something we as muslims who are looking to get married overlook. Especially as a sister, alot of us can't bare going through the heartache of having to go against our parents when it comes to things like these. Parents who took care of us, until we reached adulthood. Beautiful reminder!!!
