Walk through the CBD area in Durban and then you will see the truth, was clean when I lived there in the 80's
Its amazing how many Europeans live in the Cape of Southern Africa. There's always an appointment I guess where you have beautiful beaches and tropical weather.

I am American. Why is it trash all on the ground broken walkways and standing water? Why is there traffic moving and not obeying traffic laws if any? Some stop signs aren't there and traffic lights seem not to be working. People seem rude walking into each other and standing in other's way. America needs a lot of improvement SOCIALLY and POLITICALLY. But I do like how organized America is with TRAFFIC and better courtesy than Africa. Oh, why are there so many VENDERS selling everywhere making it difficult for people to walk? Sell in stores NOT out on the streets. It looks MESSY and hazardous selling and trying to walk.

I won't say it is the last place in Africa I would visit, but it wasn't the first. It won't be the next. Or after that. A few things need to change before I go. Beautiful place it seems though.

I am from the the US south Africa has it's pros and cons like anywhere else in the world it's some places that's a lil unclean but it's a lot more areas that are super clean and nice it's a big city with lots of people but worth going to visit I've been three times

Always have been and that Mandela movie did not help me no more than I understood as a kid in the 80s. Some situations foreigners should not put themselves in if they do not understand certain things abroad. Just me if I have a choice; sometimes I didn't.
@@POETICMIND2002 I've actually eaten a lot of meat from there now that I think about it. My wife would bring me some of the game hunted, frozen, flown back when she was a flight attendant; she would always bring me back something from there. I don't think negatively about South Africa; I just don't understand its politics.

Not every part of South Africa is like what U see. There are much better areas and places not nearly compared to this. This is just tiny sand in the beach.

Ive been to south Africa three times Joburg Durban and Petoria love the place i felt at peace and the sights you seeing i saw theres nothing like it in th3 states The people were friendly to me lots to do and see oh and and i also visited Soweto a few times

Nice video! Would love to visit South Africa and dive deep into the different cultures. Would I, as a white tourist, be able to do the same walk as in the video without it being dangerous for me?
There are many places U can travel very safely as a tourist. There are always some places U will have to get a local to go around with U showing U the area.Anyway, I will personally give U the tour in places were they say is not safe. Just let me know when U here. If U plan everything in advance U probably going to do well.

You will never be attacked in the townships doesn't matter what you are more especially during the day. the most crimes in SA are planned except in some corners in the CBD downtown where they pickpocket u in specific streets. the townships will have violence where the participants know each other more especially in the tarvens at night. Of course most of these criminals stay in the hood but you don't do crime at home where your home, mom, sisters, brothers and everyone related to you are known. most crimes happen in the suburbs and affluent areas because the criminals believe that that's where money is. then the hijacking if you driving a car in their list and sometimes you hear of tourist being attacked, they want money. you don't just get attacked by criminals. I grew up being told a Soweto and Alex is a no go area but believe you I drive there whatever time of the day. Also the western media is making sure that you never leave your countries for opportunities here and besides South Africa's beauty is that the west are able to destroy a African country if they do not aligned with their interests so it will be difficult to do that if white population is significant in that African country. Look at the Agoa blackmail against SA by USA due to the ICJ case

I'm enjoying your video a lot. I worked in the Carlton Centre Tower for many years and lived in Kensington for 20. At one time I travelled on suburban trains for about 7 years so I used Johannesburg station daily. I knew my way around tge CBD even 15 years ago. But the station was the only place I recognised. 😮😮 Everything has changed so much I couldn't tell if you were going NEW or S.

For me to want to visit or even live there, the people need to be more mindful of all the paper or trash on the city streets. Just that eye sore alone makes the people look bad, the same people who would probably tell you how much they love their country. However, the trash on the street is a big turnoff for me, and it seems they don't think twice about it; People outside Africa are watching, other ethnicities may not say anything, but they are quietly talking down about all the freakin trash on the streets!
I guess U are misinformed about South Africa. South Africa is a big country with so much in it. The trash U see in those old cities can not define the real country.
There are many,far many clean places that qualify as one of the world's top beautiful areas .
If U knew how many people from abroad flocking to SA to visit as of right now U wouldn't say what U said. Makes me wonder if U are from an outside country.🤷

However, the display in this video depicts harmful inaccuracy; I would be wrong if I said America didn't have neglected areas, but what I am saying is the folks in this video seem like conscious and mindful good people who I feel could do better at policing up their area of residence even during trade, this video appears to depict how the area look at all time unfortunately, I love Africa!
