I've been researching the V50X for a couple of weeks, watching endless youtube reviews etc. The poor audio issue came up again and again, so I emailed Akaso about this and and they said the audio problem has been fixed. Your recent video seems to confirm this (sigh of relief). This afternoon, I ordered the camera as well as the external mic. The total package was $120 Canadian (About $95 US). I ordered both items this afternoon and should be here in the next day or two. It's too bad that so many people look at the reviews, most of which are at least a year old, and determine that the mic quality is atrocious and so not worth buying. Akaso has apparently done a great job of updating the software, as you have made clear. I have emailed Akaso 4 times in the past week with questions and they have replied each time within 12 hours. Amazing! Glad I found your video. I feel confident this camera will be more than adequate for my needs, mounted on the chin of my motorcycle helmet. Cheers!
Great video mate! I had the same problem. I paid £74 for mine then I bought a Campark X15 which has much better audio for just £34! But I just got that external mic for the V50X and it's much louder and clearer now. Only problem Is some slight distortion, when your voice goes a bit loud here and there!
@@TrainHardLiveFree I've given up with this camera mate, I'm not impressed with it! The external mic is also terrible! I now use pocket Gimbal cameras instead!
I just got the V50X and same thing with the "muffled" sound and it could be the top holes are too small for the mic to pick up enough decibels? Has anyone tried making the holes bigger with a tiny drill bit? I may do this one day.
@@TrainHardLiveFree ah, just watched it and my V50X is about the same as your newer one. I just drilled the holes out a tad bigger and it helped some, but not a lot.
