I worked at a popular well known place in NYC that is very famous for giving away a lot of free food to customers complaining just so they can get good reviews. We had one karen who refused to talk to anyone who wasn't a manager cause us service employees would actually try to stop guests from abusing this policy whereas the managers were more likely to lose their jobs if they tried to stop the abuse. Her schtick was that she was allergic to almost everything but needed A LOT of protein with her meal and not enough veggies and starches. Ironically protiens that had her allergies in their marinade cause for some reason they were ok.
I worked as a waitress for years and had to deal with similar terrible customers - so I can totally relate to this 😠 Some people are beyond belief! 😂 Love your story times Jacey, keep doing what you're doing ❤️
Former hostess and server here. These people are a different breed, I cannot stand people like this ugh! My manager was not cool like yours, my manager made me cry!
If this happens to anyone I hope a fellow server would be kind enough to help. I know I would help as much as I can because I know I have tables too. I won't let them monopolize my time because these bills keep coming. There's always little polite things to say when you have to walk away. You know these ppl are not leaving a tip. So, yeah salvage what you can from your other tables. This is advice for new servers because I have been through this. Don't be afraid to ask for help. I'm glad you had a manager with you.
I stumbled on this video. You are super cute, fun, and quirky. Awesome hair. Your story telling skills are impressive! The skit made me laugh and I needed that. Tootles...
Bullies are real and it’s amazing how they hone in on someone they perceive as a weak target, but in situations that they need to speak up for themselves, their lips seemed to be sewn together👎🏽
After that man made his dumb comment of requesting your name so he wouldn't have to get you as a server again I would have asked him, "What's your name? Good. Then I won't have to deal with you when you come back." The food industry can be such a stressful and thankless job sometimes.
Im glad you see he was looking for a fight and looking for free food. In my head I would of been like good. I'm glad I don't ever have to serve but you cried not because he said that because you were still holding up as he left he already had 80 daggers in you and seen you were still standing. He was like "FINISH HER!" He would not leave that restaurant without taking your spirit. The older I get I learn to ignore these ppl and act stupid because when you act stupid they move on. They're like this person is not bright enough to hurt.
OMG girl......I would have snapped at the customer. Props to you for keeping your cool. You are an amazing story teller because I have been binge watching several of your videos and they are all so entertaining! Also, your eyes are REALLY pretty :D
This whole story just makes me heated!! I'd be so mad. We all get to a point where words dont matter when you can see past the real intentions or problems the customer has. You are probably a much better person than me, because I'd be so bratty to them!
i found your channel thanks to your “i got fired from my dream job” video and i am so super thankful. you’re such an eloquent storyteller, i can visualize everything you’re describing so perfectly, it feels as if i’m listening to a story being told by a friend. you rock 🖤
I don't understand that if they only had an hour to eat, why they went to a sit down restaurant instead of going to a fast food restaurant. I understand people wanting to eat what they want to eat. But sometimes you just have to cut your losses.
Jacy, Hey. I felt your pain. Been a server for a long time and I've been in situations that were similar. Been so far in the weeds on a busy night then get a table like that. Takes forever to order even though they're ready, modifies everything etc. etc. I'll think to myself WTF. This is a nightmare. I'll break out in a sweat right there. You did great!!
Thank you for sharing your story. I just had my annual review, & my boss read an anonymous feedback - that was sooo hurtful & untrue...after a (pandemic) year of me busting my a$$$. I cried like a baby this afternoon. Some people just truly s-u-c-k. Absolutely be kind, especially during these times...
A party like that needs the reality check provided by the Tune Inn of Capitol Hill in DC, home of the meanest waitresses in the East. At least, that was their reputation; they were fine with me and, as is the custom for the Baltimore-Washington region, called me “darling”.. I generally avoid going out unless I have money for a tip, so that might be why I did not see their nasty side.
That customer ordering the omelette with a mocha is literally a perfect example of the twitter meme I saw about how you can tell someone has a low IQ by how they cannot understand hypotheticals, recursion and I like to add in context. Recursion: She could not understand how she butchered the house omelette into a normal omelette, and could not understand how she turned her cappuccino into a latte simply by removing the foam then turned it into a mocha. Context: She could not understand that onion could not be removed B/C of the possibility that it is pre-made. Customers like her are disgustingly common and I struggle to not roll my eyes and facepalm talking to them. Tables like them are the reason why some servers and managers just say "the kitchen is full of orders" to buy time between harassment. Edit: This man had the audacity to say everyone's food was cold and tasted nasty like he had everyone's food in his belly. Literally get outta town sir. Pack your whole bag and leave.
Some people, like your customer, are beyond stupid (and saving). It's as if their brains can't fire properly when it comes to having good judgment. But what is most shocking to me is that people like those often occupy CEO, doctor, psychiatrist and other high ranking positions. So, to answer people who ask on Quora if you need to be intelligent to be successful, absolutely not. Just learn to do what works for others and keep doing it without thinking ''out of the box''.
Wow let me tell you I worked in a nice ass steak house and man I cried so much at that job and was only there for 2 months and was let go for “ chef not getting along with me “
Tips are beneficial because they reward the good servers, unless it's a restaurant where tips are pooled. I saw a news report today in which servers were picketing for $15/hr PLUS tips. That is taking it too far. A $2.20/hr base is too low, however. Just reward good servers with bigger tips. I throw in an extra $10 if I'm called "sir", but young people aren't taught to speak that way anymore so it doesn't happen too much.
haha vegans are actually pretty easy, it's the strange diets and allergies that are tough because I need the customers to tell me what they can and can't have!
If I worked in the service industry, I would be in jail....for throwing somebody out the window
😳
Hahaha it is definitely frustrating dealing with some people 😅
😅😅
I used to be a server too and one thing I hated the most is when customers say they’re “allergic” to something when they just don’t like something
Yes! People can be just so extra 😅

Ugh that's the worst, then its likely they're never on your side 😭
Def the same manager told me not to fuck up cried in the car
That skit was everything!! You're such an amazing story teller😀.
More skits please. This was hilarious 😂
I couldn’t do this job. No tip from that table! People can be atrocious.
Oof serving is tough, but I'd be lying I'd I said I didnt miss it sometimes 😭 the good tables definitely outweigh the bad!
If this happens to anyone I hope a fellow server would be kind enough to help. I know I would help as much as I can because I know I have tables too. I'm glad you had a manager with you.
Thank you so much for posting a video I’m having a horrible day I needed this so much
I used to be a server and I totally relate to all of this. People can be so crazy

Hahaha dang, what a savage line!! I wish I would've said that lol
Jacy--LOL!! "Five Easy Pieces" Jack Nicholson🤣🤣🤣
Aww, poor Jacy, what a CREEP!
Im glad you see he was looking for a fight and looking for free food.
In my head I would of been like good. I think that man was an actual psychopath who could only attract the company of mentally challenged people. Awesome storytelling as always!
These people where either A. Mentally ill or B. On drugs or both! I was a waitress in college. Hardest gig, ever. Love you Jacy! Very funny indeed.
Congrats on 3k, queen!
Thanks my dear, I always appreciate you 🥰
Your stories are so fun to listen to! Can't wait for more.
OMG girl......I would have snapped at the customer. Props to you for keeping your cool. You are an amazing story teller because I have been binge watching several of your videos and they are all so entertaining! Also, your eyes are REALLY pretty :D
Nah, I'm a crier not a fighter hahaha. But thanks so much for your support 🤗

This means so much 🥺 thank you!!
Love the skit you did! 😃😂Reminded me so much of the time I was a server at Applebee’s had the same situation!! Hope all is well with you!!
Ooh Applebees huh?? Haha too funny 😭
I don't understand that if they only had an hour to eat, why they went to a sit down restaurant instead of going to a fast food restaurant. I understand people wanting to eat what they want to eat. But sometimes you just have to cut your losses.
Hilarious 😂 but sad at the same time. Good reminder we should all try to be kind, considerate and generous with service industry folks.
Haha definitely a little bit of both! But thanks for your kind message 🤗
Girl......i'm a server! Lol. Do you left out the most important part. Did they leave a tip?!?!?!
Jacy, Hey. I felt your pain. Been a server for a long time and I've been in situations that were similar. Been so far in the weeds on a busy night then get a table like that. Omg... cappuccino with no foam, I've had to explain that one before
Loooove your new colour!

C’mon with the production! Awesome video🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Haha I got a little too into those characters!
What I don't like is any one of those people could have said Thank You and given you a tip
My response would have been “Thank God!”
Ughhh I could never do this job. So glad you were able to push through. The reenactment was on point ahaha 💜
This is a great story JC. You have the best storytimes.😍
Thanks Sheryl 🤗🤗

Love this blonde on you! 👩🏼🦱🤎

It's a shame for sure, some people definitely just enjoy the power trip they get, and perhaps dont know how to be good leaders. I agree!
They were wasting time ordering, probably took 30 minutes each person.😂
Wow let me tell you I worked in a nice ass steak house and man I cried so much at that job and was only there for 2 months and was let go for “ chef not getting along with me “
Has there been a case where two servers take orders for a group of people by dividing into 2 to make the order process faster?
I love your skits!😂😂♥️
Great work! Keep it up!
The skit was everything lol
BEST STORY TELLER EVER!
Loved the skit!
Lol read nobody does that anymore
Subbed! Haven’t watched yet but about to. And I like your stories ❤️

Hilarious !!
Thanks for the love on my channel, Nichele 🥰
@@JacyErin 😊❤👍
😂comical!
Servers should make more money per hour me thinks
or is tip better ?

I hope I don’t sound like this when I go out
Im a vegan. Not too picky. Just don’t do dairy or meat for ethical reasons.
This is hilarious 😂
haha vegans are actually pretty easy, it's the strange diets and allergies that are tough because I need the customers to tell me what they can and can't have!
Oh thank goodness !
Allergies can be scary, especially if it’s life or death 😳
