  • Retired U.S. Army General and former Secretary of State Colin Powell reads the Gettysburg Address at the National Museum of American History's Grand Reopening Ceremony on November 21, 2008. President Abraham Lincoln delivered the famous speech on November 19, 1863, at the dedication of the Soldiers' National Cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
