The Majority of the time the lowest price wins Ive been told many many times I pitch better than the competition but then these same people ask if I would do work for the same price as the lowest price who may not have a scooby they can't have as im not exactly expensive myself

It's all to do with perceived value.
Think about it like this some spreads will purchase a DeWalt cordless mixer while others will purchase a £30 mixer from Aldi because they don't think the DeWalt is worth the money and they've always just used cheap mixers
The spreads that spend the £500 on the DeWalt they perceive it to be higher quality and worth the money so they are happy to accept a high price. This is how perceived value works with your customers too
Once you build your brand and your reputation to the point where your customers perceive your products,& services as superior then price will not be a determining factor anymore.
This is something I help plasterers with in my coaching program.

I’ve just priced a job with distemper on walls and I find it strange why 3 other plasters didn’t mention about it to the customer before

ive been a self employed decorator for 5 years now without growth and have a 60-40 price rejected people want good work done for a lower than market price and worst thing is they expect good quality work for low prices then moan about quality of work across the board if you see not the greatest work always ask how much the person was paid to do it and if its less than market value well you deserved it. yourve got to think about like this would your customers work for less than market price

It's often a case of branding & marketing once we get this sorted so that we attract in the type of customer that is searching for Quality & not just a quick cheap job .

80 pence a day, 290 quid a year for a mentour group, not sure my customers would be happy to pay towards that.

Thank you for watching the video and for your thoughts. Could I ask what would you consider to be a fair price for this amount of help I'm giving to self employed plasterers?
