The fact that she can switch her playing style from powerful to tactical in mere seconds is very interesting......
It's actually pretty standard. When you're overpowering your opponent and forcing them to stand deep, it's not hard to catch them off guard with a drop shot.

For me, serena is the only active WTA player capable of emulating gameplay you only/often find in men's tennis. The other player is Justine Henin

Her technique and follow-through on the forehand drop shot are so unusual but so effective! That one against Anisimova was ridiculously good.

Serena is the all round player. She does it all, fantastic and powerful serves, drop shots, vollies, cross court shots, smart placements, smart rallies, great return of serves, and cross court shots with her back to the court, and finally doing magnificent smashes while she is going backwards. Just wow!!!!
She is so incredible!!! Just wow. They way they talk down on this amazing beautiful goddess is so heartbreaking . Let's see how they will do at her age. She is simply amazing!!!

I agree. Forehand drop shot is actually more difficult than the backhand drop in my opinion. It’s also harder to disguise.

My favorite has to be the one in Wimbledon. Completely non-anticipated, not in proper balance, takes a leap and charges towards the shot immediately and hits an amazing slice drop shot on the run. Queen!!

I really hate dropshots; they allow my opponent to come to the net and finish me off. Fun fact: I have never hit a drop shot in my entire life

I think that’s mostly due to her exaggerated reactions after she hits them. But her technique is actually pretty good and they are strategically well executed drop shots. They often catch her opponent off guard because she only ever employs it when she’s in the right position, her opponent is in the wrong position, and after huge shots that force her opponent back. The inside out forehand drop is kind of her go-to shot especially on clay.
