@@bboytrue1 That's not the point. The 150 cubic centimetres of displacement difference shouldn't make a very huge difference in fuel efficiency. For the past 2 years the 390 adv has stall assistance to increase tractability and hell lot of other electronics. And ride quality is really good there with smoothness as well. Honda might be a little smoother because its a big engine with little power hence the engine is stress free. But it doesn't justify the price tag.
Honda makes rock solid engines. But they should reconsider the pricing strategy. The premium they charge is hefty for a market like India. Nice review... waiting for 500F pricing.
Now as am a avid owner of 390 would like to provide my 2 cents on this. I agree with all your points, mainly on the torque and gear shift issue. Both these issues are highly solvable. So for example low end torque you are missing out, probable solution comes as using a High teeth sprocket, Powertronics piggyback ecu, and few other things. And for gear shift . I can easily go down till 50-60 on 5th as i have myself done that, for this i needed to add a fuel x pro and put it on map 7 or 8 and use a K&N Filter for more flow. FuelX Eliminates the gear shift issue and u dont need to gear up and down as much. 2.5L is quite a lot extra and if you put all the above u get a total cost of 30K max to max. I feel thats something you can look into too.
