Description: "Albert Marquet was a French painter known for his subtly colored depictions of landscapes from a window vantage point. Using simplified brushstrokes to convey forms, the artist evoked weather and light conditions while retaining a sense of volume and space. Marquet’s close friend Henri Matisse once compared the artist’s work to the calligraphic simplicity found in the work of the Japanese painter Hokusai. Born on March 27, 1875 in Bordeaux, France, he studied under Gustave Moureau alongside Georges Rouault at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Around this time, Marquet became close friends with Matisse and Raoul Dufy and exhibited with the other Fauves André Derain and Maurice de Vlaminck. Although his palette was never as bright as his cohort’s, Marquet’s work was benefited by his exposure to the abstract organization of color he saw in their work. During his life, he traveled extensively, focusing on waterfronts and vistas around France, Italy, Germany, Scandinavia, and Northern Africa. The artist died on June 14, 1947 in La Frette-sur-Seine, France at the age of 72. Today, his works are held in the collections of the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, the Tate Gallery in London, and The Museum of Modern Art, among others."

One of my very favourite painters.
As impressions - pure and simple, he seems almost superior to any of the Impressionists, IMO. I feel his sensitivity to atmosphere, weather, mood and feeling are unparalleled.

I first saw his painting several yaers ago in Saint-Petersburg, Russia and it was allmust the most impressive painting in Hermitage modern art+impressionism exposition. Later it captured my eye in Moscow's Pushkin fine artvmuseum. Nothin special at all, but very very impressive!

I like your channel because I love looking at some of these painters and you are showing the actual legit painters (and not some creepy knock off artist) - thank you! Color is good btw.
Music is a bit of a downer, sorry. I realize you can’t please everyone but this very old lady would like something a little more contemporary but accessible like Genesis Owusu or even instrumental like Allah-La? Just maybe a wee bit more upbeat, it doesn’t have to be heavy metal rap (but hey).

dommage qu'il n'y ai pas les dates et titres des tableaux...

Il est regrettable que ces tableaux soient exposés sans date et sans titre,sans l' endroit représenté.
La date de création permettrait de suivre l' évolution du peintre, de délimiter ses périodes créatives, ses influences et de préciser l' époque des toiles.
