I said that before. Good trouble shooters are rare because they need experience and a wide knowledge of the field, plus a nose for detail. Terry is an artist, a master. Look and listen to him you’ll learn a lot ! Great job !
Excellent neatness, Fender couldn't afford to take the time to do it as neatly as you did Terry. Camera shots of the chassis reminded me of a drone flyover.
Sweet. Building is so much fun !!! I've done the easy ones so far but the satisfaction of hearing them is too cool. My 5f1 champ and 5e3 deluxe are my all time favorite amps.
Super clean looks right. Allen Bradley CCS in the pre-amp will add the more glass to the chime and also make the pre-amp sing sweeter when cranked up great work sir
I am looking forward to your work on the brown face Vibroverb. I will be interested to see if you would do the same things I would do if I had the time to build the kit. :o)
As the saying goes..... "It all sounds Phony until we get the nod from Tony" really nice job.... I'd love to know the thought process that goes into the song Tony uses to test out the amps.. I know its random but there has to be an inspiration... Good reason to interview Tony one day :) Great job Terry !!!
Gosh, I have a music man 112RP 65 that sat for over 24 years and is very clean 9 out 10!!! your channel has inspired me to bring it back to life! For starters I'm replacing "all" of the E Caps out with new ones including those 100mfd 450vdc inside dog house!, the old tubes seem ok? The glow looks marginal, I've ordered new ones regardless... I only have sound from the 100 millivolts input / with no effects, only gain and volume! the 1 & 2 inputs and 3 volt input give no sound at all! Any advice is appreciated greatly!
Hello, realy beautiful build. But i have a question, why did alot of amps builders put their wiring as much as possible near the chassis, and as "clean" as possible. And i don't know why, but your's seem not as "clean" but i like it, look like more vintage. But please tell me if the way that all the wires that goes fron the board to the tubes SHOULD stay stick on the chassis as much as possible. Same thing for heaters wires, and transfos wires. Thank you and continue your beautiful build
quick question Terry, what would be the closest equivalent to a 35mf-50vdc (235-6530ak), 35mf-50vdc (235-6517a), and also a 20mfd-450vdc (235-6526a) axial capacitors and this type FP 20,10,10mf-450vdc(235-6525x) these are all made by Mallory? I can't seem to find any to those exact specs. I'd like to replace the caps in my 64' Supro-S6422TR made by valco. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Terry, where did the chassis come from? And you mentioned a new vibrato design. Where could I find this? I am thinking of building one like yours for a friend.
I know this was a kit, but you did a fantastic job on her! You knowing what you know, you are the one to ask a couple of questions. If one was building a single channel Vibroverb, why not use the tremolo circuit from say the Princeton Reverb amp instead of this one? What was the thickness of the brass plate you bent to go under the controls for a grounding buss? Good to see and hear Tony! Love from NW Colorado. Thanxz
Hey Man, Thanks for chiming in. This was not a kit, This AB763 was a combo of parts on hand including Classic tone transformers. One of a kind creation. Would be quite the task to re-create it. Yes, could integrate a Princeton Tremolo, never considered that, good thought, no LDR then. The brass plate is .010, Can't be much thicker as the stack up, front panel, chassis, lock washers, etc, affect space for the holding nut. Thanks for being on my side man.
Real clean build Terry. Nice clean sound. What size wire do you build your signal path with? Also, solid or stranded. The one ohm current shunt resistors - what wattage do you use? Thanks Terry. Another great video from D-Lab!
@@tjminasi1442 Thanks for the info! I've got some half watt and it looked like Terry was using at least that. I'll be sure to check for matching when I install them.
Finally! What a great build, Terry! It is gorgeous! So. How long before it's properly "burned in"? Google shows this- For burn in, 50-100 hours is how long most new tubes need to sound their best. You don't need to play music through the tubes, just leave it on for the time to put the hours on- what is your take, Terry?
Gotta love the Rob Robinette layout in the background...props to Rob!

Great job !
Good on you for bringing tube life to 2021!!
Fantastic build, exceptional quality. Built by someone who was military trained. Great work Terry.
Maybe needs a Camo Tolex Covering
The craftsmanship is amazing along with the tone. Masterful work.
Excellent neatness, Fender couldn't afford to take the time to do it as neatly as you did Terry. Camera shots of the chassis reminded me of a drone flyover.
Nice build Terry.
For that beautiful work, you must give yourself a pat on the back great work love your channel.
Sweet.

Like the way Terry sit back and relax to nod his head and smiling and grinning 😂
That thing is laced, not wired. Incredible workmanship and planning.

Just perfect..! Man, I want one..😵 Awesome work Terry, master craftsman..What an amp...!...Ed..u.k..😀
Very Cool my Friend
Let me add my thumbs up at number 101. Excellent job. Great sounding amp!! VERY cool!
Great job, Terry. Looks awesome. Sounds awesome.
Beautiful build and sound Terry!
I like the strat, great tones!
Lets Get Malmsteen Trying Out This Amp Out

Man, the high frequencies became so perfectly balanced!
Nice work! Sounds great!
Sounds amazing ! Great job sir!
Sounds great Terry! Clean wiring job too!
Maybe this will inspire me to finish up mine. It sounds pretty clean with the ground plate.
That's one awesome amp!
Excellent!!
Sounds great I would love to build a Princeton reverb
It would be great for my venue.
Bring that little kid back to play it
Excellent Job Terry. I did notice the bright switches not wired. Did I miss something?
A few things to wrap up still
Looks and sounds great.
Good afternoon from Sunny Chicago
Nice work Terry!
Very nice amp.
Nice job! I think I would have put a rubber boot over the exposed line voltage on the fuse holder.
Some want to shut down Old Tube Life... screw them!!
I am looking forward to your work on the brown face Vibroverb. I will be interested to see if you would do the same things I would do if I had the time to build the kit. :o)
Fantastic work! Any progress on the Mojo Brownface Vibroverb build?

sounds great

Great job Terry. I’m wondering about the possibility of converting a Hot Hod Deluxe to an AB763 Vibroverb. Would the parts fit in the HRD chassis?
Wonderful work! So tidy. Quick question: I made a fender champ kit but I didn’t put any adhesive onto the filter Caps. Is it a potential problem?
With the small speaker and Low amount of Power a Champ puts out, cap vibration should not be a problem.
👍🏻👍🏻

Nice. And that's coming from someone who isn't a strat/vibroverb fan.
Man, I am bummed that the company that made the ClassicTone transformers is kaput. Very good USA-made product at a fair price.
Do you recommend buying a mojo tone kit or source in all the parts myself
For a complete build, I would highly recommend the MojoTone kit
Hi Terry, where did the chassis come from? And you mentioned a new vibrato design. Where could I find this? I am thinking of building one like yours for a friend.
Mojotone, and the other is not quite ready... stay tuned for the big reveal.
