Thing is, I would rather get an Advanced Warfare sequel rather than this. The story of that game was far too interesting to be a one entry. Felt like it's the true futuristic CoD, aside from Black Ops II where its idea is still based on relevant subjects for its time. Also Cold War and Infinite Warfare weren't bad, maybe the multiplayer aspects were ass which was mostly the complaint of the majority. But the campaign of both were rather stellar. It's just that Modern Warfare 2019 feels more like a modern classic and stays as it is, with as of yet unmatched quality.
Not really i always did like old cod. Gulf War look like BO3 however its not as good. Story of BO3 was kinda unique there was nothing paranormal. You died and you were part of someone else memories.

Case's backstory was set up to be something like Bell's (i.e. secret changed human. Bell was mentally changed, Case is physically altered), but then was completely forgotten. And the ending seems to imply that Case doesn't have any of that special Cradle immunity. It was probably left for those stupid Warzone season missions.

COD is a $70 throwaway game. They copied Fortnite with their multi-player and season passes. The modern warfare 2020s was a whole story mode warzone map. Ever since 2016 COD and the whole gaming industry turned into DEI/ESG orgy assuming that they're creating games for the gamers but mostly for the Modern Audience dwelling on Twitter 365 because "everything is offensive and you have to point it out to fit your narrative - Anita Sarkeesian".

The campaign is amazing imo aside from the ending. It has different gameplay genres and it feels like a James Bond action thriller at times. But the ending feels very rushed.

Trash ending Treyarch and Activision just can’t leave the franchise alone but continue it just for the money sake and couldn’t think of any original ideas, but to turn it into an espionage thriller mixed with biological warfare tropes taken from other popular survival horror franchises, such as resident evil. Treyarch has no grounds whatsoever to make a simple military game about simple soldiers anymore. They have far gone away from the gritty and grounded formula of what made Black Ops 1 and 2 great i cannot argue more about how much they missed the mark here completely.

The latest installments of the series has veered into more fantastical territory, with elements like Zombies and advanced technology that seems too extreme in comparison and detaches from any semblance of believability and serious portrayal of the characters. While a certain level in suspension of disbelief is necessary in any video game, the first two Black Ops games managed to balance this with a more grounded setting of how every conflict is portrayed and characters that don’t rely on too mush fictional equipment as advantages to progress any story writing.
They should have ended the Black Ops story line immediately after the terrible writing of Black Ops 2. Instead they try to pump out two futuristic sequels that don't work, and then they try to go back and add in "filler" between BO1 and BO2. At least try something new and reboot it like MW did. Trying something new obviously doesn't work though. Take a look at Ghost, Infinite, and Advanced Warfare

The campaign is amazing imo aside from the ending. It has different gameplay genres and it feels like a James Bond action thriller at times. But the ending feels very rushed.

But besides that, the other problem is that it's completely out of context. I mean not really. Trash ending Treyarch and Activision just can’t leave the franchise alone but continue it just for the money sake and couldn’t think of any original ideas, but to turn it into an espionage thriller mixed with biological warfare tropes taken from other popular survival horror franchises, such as resident evil. Treyarch has no grounds whatsoever to make a simple military game about simple soldiers anymore. They have far gone away from the gritty and grounded formula of what made Black Ops 1 and 2 great i cannot argue more about how much they missed the mark here completely.
Mate the black ops games have always been like this.
Like look at me in the eyes and say that surviving a 20 story fall or surviving a point blank grenade blast is somehow grounded in reality.

The latest installments of the series has veered into more fantastical territory, with elements like Zombies and advanced technology that seems too extreme in comparison and detaches from any semblance of believability and serious portrayal of the characters.
While a certain level in suspension of disbelief is necessary in any video game, the first two Black Ops games managed to balance this with a more grounded setting of how every conflict is portrayed and characters that don’t rely on too mush fictional equipment as advantages to progress any story writing.

They should have ended the Black Ops story line immediately after the terrible writing of Black Ops 2. Instead they try to pump out two futuristic sequels that don't work, and then they try to go back and add in "filler" between BO1 and BO2. At least try something new and reboot it like MW did. Trying something new obviously doesn't work though. Take a look at Ghost, Infinite, and Advanced Warfare
