Not to mention I've never seen or heard about an employee while in the clock lie and say they don't work there, why would they that's as far from making sense that anything can possibly get. Ah, but Opie had a _friendly conversation_ with the employee.
To those beneath her, Karen only gives orders.
The only other modes of communication she has are one-upping her peers and sucking up to her superiors.
Yes, that is exactly as crude as it sounds, but that seems to be the level of emotional and social maturity Karens are at.

Only time I ever whistled, or snapped my fingers to get an employee's attention was when I was not well and unable to speak. I was trying to find cough medicine and cough drops to help my sore throat. Fortunately, the guy was very understanding when he realized I was struggling to talk and I wrote my question on a note pad. Medicine and rest, I got better. But seriously, unless you're sick, or otherwise can't speak, there's no excuse for that kind of behavior.

It's even funnier because why does she even care that much? If they WERE an employee why does it bother them so much? Maybe they were on break and wanted to help a little before sitting down again for example. Why does OP HAVE to be the one to help her when she already had someone there to serve her? Also just about everywhere has cameras these days, why did she think she could literally just make up assault charges like that?

  • @LexysamaIllustrations

I hate that the manager in story 3 asked that they "act more professionally because they reflect the restaurant". First of all, once I'm clocked out, I don't work there until my next shift. Unless they are getting paid to be "professional" outside of work hours, OP can do what they want and if that means telling off a Karen that is harassing them and their friends, so be it. I'm sick and tired of this idea that you have to be "professional" outside of work hours, especially when you're in the privacy of your own home or just hanging out with friends. As long as crimes aren't being committed, people can spend their free time how they want.

    • @jackbauer6543

To be fair, the poster was clearly still wearing the uniform. That sadly does mean their acts do reflect on the store, because people would immediately know where they work, and cause shit there.

    • @LexysamaIllustrations
      @LexysamaIllustrations ปีที่แล้ว +21

@@GSSAGE7 Not really, since the manager made it clear that the woman would be banned so she could never go there and cause shit because the OP would recognize her. Plus the manager had no idea if the OP was even still wearing their uniform so it still stands.
Kombucha girl got fired from the bank job she had because she made a harmless TikTok that other people edited. She was trying kombucha for the first time, and didn’t do anything wrong, and yet they had a problem with her because she “represented the bank” even though she made the TikTok at home and wasn’t even wearing the uniform for her bank. It’s wrong to hold employees to standards they aren’t getting paid to uphold while they are not at work. Period.

It's just utterly annoying when you have to ask them the same question or tell them something three times because they are not paying attention to you. Sometimes I just want to yell at them "Hang the effing phone up and listen to me" or want to rip the phone out of their hand and fling it. It's very hard to stay in control sometimes. It’s pronounced the same way you would say Kieran. About 22 years ago, when I worked retail (I don’t anymore), I had a “gentleman” that was from a different country snap his fingers at me and tell me “be quick about it” when I went to check in the back for an item for him. His business companion quietly told him “no, no. We don’t treat women that way here.” The guy replied that I was “the help and that’s how they’re treated”. My manager nearly caused some mayhem because she heard him. No apologies, but the business companion said that they were leaving instead of buying anything. Both my manager and I were fuming.

I really wish that this is a place where the help eats the rich.
I used to work in a bakery and had a "gentleman" and his 11 yr-old daughter come in for her birthday cake. She had to carry out the cake; when she asked him for help, he snapped his fingers at my coworker and me to help her.
If it wasn't for the birthday girl, I really wanted a smash cake just for his face.

I just had an "I don't work here" story. I went to a blue/white thrift store and as I was meandering through the aisles I had a lady run her cart in front of me and asked about something. I must have given her a quizzical look because she asks 'you don't know?'....I said 'no, I don't work here.' I then pointed to an employee with a trolley behind her, and said maybe they can help you, turned around and walked away.
I should note I wasn't wearing a vest, didn't have a name tag, and I had a shopping cart of my own.

The table where I decorated cakes was set a bit far back from the counter where customers stand. A lot of them would snap their fingers at me and yell "HELLOOOOO!" Then there were the whistlers. Store cameras more than pay for themselves. It takes 1-2 days for a bruise to turn purple. Before that, the skin is a red color. It only turns purple as the blood loses its oxygen content, and that takes time. If someone with a bruise claims that they were recently attacked, they are lying.
