Believe it or not, it was said in an interview that DeeDee had difficulty singing and playing guitar at the same time, so that's why he stopped. It's a shame, I preferred him to sing as well as Joey, of course.

I was 19 when I got into the ramones. I know what you mean and I'd love to be in that 1970's-1990's Ramones energy. By the point I got into them, Tommy was the only one left. I was disappointed that they waited for him to die to induct the Ramones into the rock n' roll hall of fame. I'm 36 now and still love my favorite band, "Ramones" to give them their singular title. The reason why Richie is underrated is because by the 80s, pretty much everyone forgot about the Ramones. Except for the ones who were still really into the Ramones no matter what. That’s why everyone thinks Marky was the best drummer.
