Excelent hack ‘n slash game with a bit of humour to it. Multiplayer is excellent but single player is fun, even with the limited AI. Great video again, you’ve done the game justice, thanks.
Thank you too, good sir! I honestly would love to see Moonstone remade in today's standard's (still in 2D though) with a little more depth and better AI added to it. It would be an awesome game to grab on Steam and play on Steam Deck.
@@nicholsliwilson I'll have a look. There's so many old games remakes these days that you never know. There's even a refresh on Ports of Call, two of them actually within last 10 years. Just added the newer one to Steam and will have a look at it some time next month if I find time.
Thanks for the video! Love this game :) there are many things that could be improved on in the game but I kind of like the simplicity of it. As you said... Very easy to get in to. 👍
I first saw this on a school buds 500, I loved it when I first played it, there was me and a couple of other lads from the same class, we played each other a lot quite often we would have little sleep overs and played this late over the weekend, I also managed to get a copy of it so I could play it on my own 500, it's a tough game to break but very satisfying when you complete for the first time after that it becomes quite easy.
Moonstone is still a really good and fun game, for those who haven't experienced it, or have someone to play it against or even just to kick off and massacre some mobs. :) Sure, longevity when playing alone is limited, I agree.
I Still Play This Game On My Amiga More then any other. Unfortunately by myself. I remember it being hard when it came out. But you get a rhythm for the bad guys. Don't level up to quick and get rid of your magical items before fighting the end boss. If the Software doesn't Fail. I Kill Everything on The Board Everytime.
I envy you. I've only one friend who'd be interested and we don't see each other often enough to easily arrange it. But we've spoke about it so there's a chance. :)
Such an interesting game! That poor green knight sure got his feathers ruffled at one point. The animations are pretty quirky and fun too. And if you win you get a nice dance and you turn into the Orion constellation. Neat. :) I'll have to hunt this down too.
Moonstone is a great board party game, you should try it out with others, especially if all of you are on a similar gamer level, cause it's easy in it, for the better player just to hunt others down and kill them. xD
@@OldAndNewVideoGames I'll have to take your word for it, because the few friends I have left are not gamers, so the only multiplayer would be me pretending to be more people. XD
@@TeaAndFloppyDisks I'm sorry to hear that. Read that. Potato, carrot, leek, you know... Everyone should have at least one gaming friend that they could play games with. @@OldAndNewVideoGames I know. That's why I tried to get into some online multiplayer games, in hopes to play with others like that. I try out the amiga on my super console x pro . the only 2 games I've had a blast with is Fighting Spirit and Shadow Fighter's ... hope this game on the amiga emulator list looks interesting and fun heroes of might and magic with a beat em up looks epic !
This is the real "bloody" gem !!! manage to finished it only once with help of my 3 friends . We clean the map and my friends then sacrifice to me all the items for the final boss :))) great game but very hard..... your swing timing must be "TOP" :)
I too found that while you could play Moonstone versus, it was much better when you joined up. Especially that if one was low on lives, could get back to the village to replenish, while the others fought with a dragon. For me, it's a "party" game.
@@OldAndNewVideoGames yesssss i agree "it´s a Mario Party for adults" :o) , the most satisfiing thing was cutting off the defeated oponent head . This game shloud be 18+ :)
Actually i didn't find the final boss hard to kill at all - did her from the very first try (but, at that point i had been playing the game for long time and got good in fighting in general)! Dragon during the game was a bit trickier in the beginning. I guess he just looked scary with fire and all. The trick is to just move up and down all the time and place yourself quite close below his head and hit him occasionally with the sword from below.
@@OldAndNewVideoGames You won the game as in finished it / saw the end sequence without ever having faught the guardian? How's that possible? Wasn't the main goal of the game to find the 4 keys so druids could do the ritual so one actually can have the final fight with the guardian to be able to retrieve the moonstone itself? I am aware of the fact that one can finish the game without visiting / fighting through all locations on the map (as soon as one finds all 4 keys which are randomly spread across the map you are good to go for final fight) but not without fighting the guardian.
@@ShejtanVrbaski Yep, got all the keys from other knights and moonstone too, went to Stonehenge and saw the animation of mine changing into star sign and years later father telling his son about it. That sorta thing.

Modern remake would be fun. But even though there's one that mixes Moonstone and Cabal, there are no pure ones. So, this is the best we've got. :)
